BALI / INDONESIA
25th – 26th June 2019
Hello surfers and lovers of Bali and thanks again for stopping by the baliwaves (the original Bali surf report website since back in 1999) for our latest news and best possible views on surfing and weather conditions here on the island of the Gods, and the No.1 tropical surfing holiday destination and gateway to Indonesia’s surfing paradise, Bali.
Ok crew well yesterday the 25th we took another early morning run back over to Bali’s East side hoping to find a little more size than what was actually on offer. As it shows wave height was only in the 2-3ft range with just the odd bigger freak set. But still there were some nice shaped waves and the off barrel or two in perfectly glassy surfing conditions while we were on the scene.
Weather wise it was a top morning over on the East coast and pretty well staying that way all afternoon back home on the West side as well. Although for Bali standards the early morning has been noticeably cooler.
Today the 26th and our 7.15am surf check on the Outer Reefs of South Kuta was showing 2-4ft waves breaking between Kuta Reef and Airport Left. There might have been the off bigger set wave hitting Middle Reef as the tide was still dropping out at the time. Surfing conditions were clean and glassy with the wind only light out of the ENE.
Weather wise right now at 10.40am it’s mostly sunny with some cloud still drifting through and the temperature is now on 27 degree’s Celsius, Humidity level at 78% and UV index on 3. Wind direction is now fresh out of the East with gusts up to 25km/h.
The next tide today in Bali will be a 1.7mtr High at 3.35pm
Tomorrows surf outlook, well this could be interesting, there’s lots of movement out in our Indian Ocean at the moment and there are conflicting reports. One is saying it will be smaller than today and the other report is saying that we should see the start of a solid swell bumping into Indonesia. My feeling is that maybe first thing in the morning there won’t be much change but by midday early afternoon we might see some action. But either way by the 28th we should be knee deep in deep Indian Ocean swells. Stay tuned and we’ll keep you up dated as it happens here in Bali.
Don’t forget if you want to come and cheer on the local surfers shooting it out for a slot in this years RipCurl Padang Padang Cup then turn up at Padang Padang Beach on the 28th for the running of the finals to see which four surfers will make the cut. Then on Sunday there will be the opening ceremony for the Cup down on Padang Padang Beach. Starting at 3.00pm.
Travel Tip #76251
Please take care and never ever leave any valuables in your car or under your motorbike seat as I’ve heard more reports of thieves plying their trade along some of the more secluded parking areas around Bali.
Also if you have any young surfers with the potential to excel and to get some professional training and coaching in all aspects of surfing then check out Tipi Jabriks “Grom Patrol” Bali surf training camp and contests that’s coming up soon. Check our latest news menu for more info.
You might have also noticed a new sponsor on our home page (just above the surf report photos) a big welcome aboard to our old friends at SURFRESQ. These guys have a new device that will put your broken leg rope back together in seconds and will become a standard part of your surfing kit in the future. Check it out and see for yourself.
