BALI / INDONESIA
2nd – 3rd August 2019
Selamet Haru Raya Kuningan to my Balinese Family and Friends today
Hello surfers and lovers of Bali and thanks again for stopping by the baliwaves (Bringing you all the good things from Bali since back in 1999) for our latest news and best possible views on surfing and weather conditions here on the island of the Gods, and the No.1 tropical surfing holiday destination and gateway to Indonesia’s surfing paradise, Bali.
Ok so yesterday the 2nd and with wave height only breaking in the 1-3ft range again between Kuta reef and Airport left we opted for an easy day rather than bore you with photos of waist to head high waves. Surf conditions were nice with the good old ESE Trade wind kicking in early and providing clean off shore wind between Kuta and Uluwatu.
Today the 3rd and as expected wave height turned it up a notch for us. Our 6.30am surf check on the Outer reefs of Tuban had 2-4ft waves breaking between Kuta Reef and Airport left. The tide was had only been running back in for a couple of hours at the time so Middle Reef was the best option. I’d be pretty confident to say that it wave height would have also crept up a little more with the tide pushing in.
But as it shows in our latest photo gallery we had the 1000mm lend down at Uluwatu this morning. As you can see plain as day in some of the shots there were some solid 6 footers coming through, not a lot but every now and again a couple of rouges would roll through and catch most surfers out. Crowd wise it was good to only see around 30 odd surfers in the water. Surfing conditions were super clean with the ESE Trade wind blowing clean off shore wind from Temples down through to the Racetrack.
Weather wise outside right now at 2.20pm the temperature is a warm 28C, Humidity is at 77% and the UV index on 5. Wind direction is ESE with gusts up to 38km/h.
