BALI / INDONESIA
21st – 22nd September 2019
Hello surfers and lovers of Bali and thanks again for stopping by the baliwaves (Bringing you all the good things from Bali since back in 1999) for our latest news and best possible views on surfing and weather conditions here on the island of the Gods, and the No.1 tropical surfing holiday destination and gateway to Indonesia’s surfing paradise, Bali.
Wow it’s been a solid weekend for us and some very nice waves have came and gone. Yesterday the 21st and with very small waves around down here on the Southern we took our crew back up the West Coast in chase of some more size. We did luck out and managed to score some very tidey 3-4ft+ waves with clean and glassy conditions. Crowd wise it was like old days with less than 20 surfers spread through the line up. The last photo in today’s photo gallery tells the tale.
This morning the 22nd I wasn’t too sure about our predicted new swells arrival schedule so I went down for a surf check on the Outer Reefs of Tuban around 6.20am. Wave height at the time was only just starting to show in the 1-3ft range between Kuta reef and Airport Left. That was while the tide was still running out so I imagined as she pushed back in we would be seeing some much better size.
We decided on going down to Uluwatu cause all our crew had never surfed it before and that they needed to check out Indonesia’s premier location. On arrival with the tide still running down there were some sick sick tube rides going down the Racetrack section and the odd one breaking on the Outside Racetrack section. As the tide started to push back in Wave height did indeed start to bump up and before long there were 6 footers breaking from right down under the cliff to the Main Peak. Also by that time (12.00 noon) there was at least 120 surfers in the water and time for us to get outta Dodge. The tide was still running in and I reckon it may have even got a bit bigger down there after we left.
Weather wise it’s been hot and sunny, as all Sunday’s should be.
