BALI / INDONESIA
16th – 17th September 2019
Hello surfers and lovers of Bali and thanks again for stopping by the baliwaves (Bringing you all the good things from Bali since back in 1999) for our latest news and best possible views on surfing and weather conditions here on the island of the Gods, and the No.1 tropical surfing holiday destination and gateway to Indonesia’s surfing paradise, Bali.
On the 16th we were not quite counting on wave height to be as big as it actually was, our intel was saying that it should still be sizey but not as big as it actually was. As it shows in the opening photo in our latest photo collage from where we have been the last couple of days. I would have had to have called it a solid 8ft with maybe a few much bigger freak sets that had the entire line up (of 8 surfers) all paddling in the soup of there after wake. But between the freakies there were some long leg tremblers peeling off for ever.
While yesterday the 17th we opted for a much easier wave to surf up the West Coast of Bali at a now very popular “learner” location. (But that’s pretty much almost every location World wise these days, with the explosion of mature aged surfers getting into surfing on massive volume surfboards. Can’t blame em really cause I’ve been enjoying this stuff for over 50 years now and know just how good my beach lifestyle has been) Wave height up there yesterday was a nice and easy 3-4ft with the very occasional bigger set wave and again some very long and user friendly rides to be had. I’ve also gotta give another big thank you to our friends at the UMADEWI SURFING RESORT located right in front of the waves for another perfect after surf lunch.
Weather wise it was just another perfect beach day here in Bali.
Today the 18th and it’s only now just turned 4.30am but it won’t be long and we will be back out there. We are expecting wave height to back off some more today but there should still be a good variety of locations on offer. So have a nice morning and tune into the original Bali surf report later on for the latest news and info straight outta Bali.
The next tide today will be a 0.4mtr Low at 5.49am.
