Hello surfers and lovers of Bali and thanks again for stopping by the baliwaves (Bringing you all the good things from Bali since back in 1999) for our latest news and best possible views on surfing and weather conditions here on the island of the Gods, and the No.1 tropical surfing holiday destination and gateway to Indonesia’s surfing paradise, Bali.
Ok so this morning I think we made the right call and headed down to the Southern end of the island to Uluwatu, putting our money down that the Racetrack would be going off. With wave height still in the head to well over head high class down, tide drawing towards the bottom and clean glassy conditions there were some real good old fashioned Bali barrels running through the Racetrack section. Only around 15 surfers in the water and a few of them should have been back at Kuta beach learning how to paddle first at that. The wind started to swing all over the place around 9.30AM from South to West then back around to the ESE and then settled back to S-SSW just as I was packing up at 10.30. The Track was still delivering the goods and there were more surfers starting to make their way there as I was walking out.
Looking down at the top end of Impossible’s there looked to be some head high waves breaking Impossibly fast and quite a few surfers in the water.
I also heard there were some nice waves up in the Jembrana area of Bali around mid morning.
Weather wise it was a mostly sunny early and still mostly blue sky out there now at 2.00pm. The temp is a warm 31 degree’s Celsius, Humidity is at 71% and the UV index on 11. Wind direction is now WSW – SW with gusts up to 18km/h.
Driving home from Uluwatu it was good to see that around 95% of the tourists I saw riding motorbikes were all wearing helmets, probably the other way around at Canggu yesterday.
