BALI / INDONESIA
12th – 13th October 2019
WARNING THIS SURF REPORT CONTAINS PHOTOS OF GIRLS IN BIKINIS HAVING FUN IN SMALL WAVES. IF OFFENDED PLEASE DON’T COME BACK HERE.
Hello surfers and lovers of Bali and thanks again for stopping by the baliwaves (Bringing you all the good things from Bali since back in 1999) for our latest news and best possible views on surfing and weather conditions here on the island of the Gods, and the No.1 tropical surfing holiday destination and gateway to Indonesia’s surfing paradise, Bali.
Alright so yesterday the 12th was a pretty good day for us, well for me especially anyway. We got up early and due to the small waves on offer down here on the Southern end of Bali we took another run back up the coast. Hoping to find a few head to head high plus waves and that’s pretty much what we got. But also with super clean conditions and the waves peeling off nicely. I even managed to score a couple of good ones. I did have my gopro tucked into the back of my vest but due to novice operator error I had it on the wrong settings and locked inside a water housing.
Making it back home in time for our Saturday afternoon band practice that went went smooth as silk (not too many mistakes on Bass guitar). Then the boys and I went into town for some of the best Sashimi and Sushi for dinner, finished off with a walk past the 2002 Bali Bomb memorial seeing as though it was right on the 17th anniversary of that horrific event that took so many innocent lives. It was long before the social media stuff was around but baliwaves was in fact the first to pass on the news to the rest of the World.
Today the 13th and just for an easy day after such a big one yesterday we settled on an early morning un crowded session down on the Bukit. Wave height was only in the 1-3ft class but there was only 3 other surfers in the water when we arrived. Little did we know that this place was going to be absolutely over run with beautiful girls (mostly on fun boards) all out there surfing and having fun, lucky us.
Weather wise it was a mostly hot and sunny day here in Bali. Right now at 4.25pm the temperature is still a warm 28 degree’s Celsius (Summer is really kicking in hard so far). Humidity is at 71% and the UV index on 2. Wind direction is coming out of the SSE with gusts up to 20 km/h.
Tomorrows Surf Forecast is calling for (hopefully) a slight bump in waves size with more light and variable early morning wind.
I’ve also been told to let all the surfer / fishermen tuning in that our Bali sport fishing scene is really starting to heat up with some excellent catches of GT’s and Spaniards. Email us for more information
Joyo’s surf camp is still open with hardly any surfers in camp, now can be a sweet time to get over to G-Land to experience the set up without the normal energy in the line up.
We would like to start offering all our viewers a 50% discount into G-Land staying at Joyo’s G-Land Surf Camp (pay for 3 days and we’ll get you 6 days) Contact us first and score this deal.
Don’t forget if your looking for any surfing supplies make sure you drop into the Echo Beach Boardriders mega surf shop up at Canggu.
Here’s another thing that might interest some of the ex-pats with young children living here in Bali that might be interested in having their kids learn to play a musical instrument (drums, guitar, base guitar or piano) instead of just playing games on phones. Sound interesting then send us an email today and get your children into music. Contact us for more information
