BALI / INDONESIA
1st October 2019
Hello surfers and lovers of Bali and thanks again for stopping by the baliwaves (Bringing you all the good things from Bali since back in 1999) for our latest news and best possible views on surfing and weather conditions here on the island of the Gods, and the No.1 tropical surfing holiday destination and gateway to Indonesia’s surfing paradise, Bali.
Alright so what he have here in our latest photo gallery is a hand full of choice photos from Canggu this morning. The tide was just in the middle on the run in and the wind just glassed off when I arrived. Wave height as it shows was at it’s best hitting the head to just over head high mark and there was indeed a few fun looking waves breaking on the Sand bar and River mouth sections. Not a heck of a lot of surfers in the water through the morning but as I was leaving around 10.30am there were a lot more riding into Echo Beach. And I do have to say there was some very ordinary motorcycle riding skills on display and very few helmets being worn. One scary thing I couldn’t help but notice was the 100-200 learner surfers in the water down towards Batu Bolong. Scary because one day soon they will be bringing their high volume boards up to Echo Beach..
Weather wise it was mostly sunny with some cloud drifting through, mostly when a good batch of sets came through.
Ok just a quicky for now but we’ll be back before you know it with more of the latest surfing and weather info
Oh yeah it was also kind of sad to hear that the last of the big three original surf brands got sold out. RipCurl was sold to a New Zealand based company yesterday for a total of 350 million Aussie dollars, end of an era.
Bali Travel Tip
BALI BELLY (myth)
I often hear visitors saying stuff like, I was so sick with Bali belly (diarrhea / vomit) that part of my holiday was ruined. Well maybe back in the 70’s – 90’s it could have been a poor hygiene thing with eating cheap food / ice. But these days hygiene in the local resto’s and warungs is pretty good. The most common problem with people coming down with diarrhea is from their own poor hygiene practice. Yeah, if you want to avoid this shit.. be damned sure to be pedantic about washing your hands anytime you use your hands to put food in your mouth ! Even eating a potato chip for example. Your hands are going to be coming in direct contact with so many germ laden objects non stop, with the most dirty of them all (in any country for that matter) cash money ! Every warung or restaurant in Bali offer a wash basin for you to use, so use it ! The best friend you can have in your fight against being struck down by diarrhea is a small bottle of hand sanitizer that you can buy in any mini market or super market in Bali for around $2.00 Carry it with you if your going out for lunch or dinner and USE IT ! I’ve been using both the wash basins and the hand sanitizers for years, so make sure you do and have a healthy Bali holiday.
Ok we also have a very special house and land package for sale here in Bali. A beautifully furnished house on it’s own block with ocean views for AU$195K
