BALI / INDONESIA
28th – 29th Oct 2019
Hello surfers and lovers of Bali and thanks again for stopping by the baliwaves (Bringing you all the good things from Bali since back in 1999) for our latest news and best possible views on surfing and weather conditions here on the island of the Gods, and the No.1 tropical surfing holiday destination and gateway to Indonesia’s surfing paradise, Bali.
Alright so yesterday the 28th a good friend of mine and myself thought we’d duck down the coast a little ways and try and get a few waves to ourselves and things started off nicely finding a fun little waist to slightly over head right hander peeling off and only one other surfers
in the water. We did manage to get half an hour with just the 3 of us before a steady stream of surfers joined for a total of 25. But all in all there are no secret spots in Bali, well that are really worth the effort anyway.
Today the 29th and my 7.15am surf check on the Outer Reefs of Tuban was still showing some solid swell breaking between Kuta Reef and Airport left. At the time the tide was mid on the run in and the wind light on shore out of the NNW. No surfers in the water at the time with the waves looking pretty ordinary and a little bit out of control. I’d say there would have been a quite a few takers as the tide filled in a little more. Kuta Reef usually gets a solid crowd when the surf is solid with surfers fleeing the bukit and Canggu when it gets too big.
But as it shows in our latest photo gallery we made our way over to Keramas where it has been absolutely cranking through the morning sessions. Wave height was still holding in the solid double head high class and surfing conditions were clean and smooth when I arrived, but by 9.15am the wind started to come up out of the S-SSE and steadily increase. I pulled the plug at 9.30am as it was getting too bumpy, but the tide was still filling in and there were plenty of surfers still in the water.
Weather wise it’s been another nice day here on the holiday island and right now at 1.00pm the temperature is on 29 degree’s Celsius, Humidity is at 67% and the UV index at 9. Wind direction is now S-SW at 10-15km/h
Next tide today in Bali will be a 0.2mtr Low at 4.25pm
Ok peeps I’ve still got a heap of video footage to sort through but I will get a fesh video loaded asap. I see our Fitness Guru has also sent me through another fresh “surf fit” article so that will also be worth a read. So make sure you stay tuned right here to the Original Bali Surf Report Website (since ’99).
Make sure you tune into our Bali morning surf and weather video report on our Twitter feed just about every morning.
Money saving tip, If you plan on riding around chasing waves in Bali on a motorcycle / scooter then make sure you wear a helmet and have a valid license for Indonesia ! Lately I’ve seen major road side license check points on both sides of the island. If your on a bike and especially if you have a surfboard then you will be stopped. These days your not going to pull it off with a 5-10 dollar on the spot donation, the times and the fines they are a changing big time.
Don’t forget to take care using your cards in the ATm’s be alert. Remember cash is always the best way to travel and will always get you the highest exchange rate !
