BALI / INDONESIA
30th – 31st October 2019
Hello surfers and lovers of Bali and thanks again for stopping by the baliwaves (Bringing you all the good things from Bali since back in 1999) for our latest news and best possible views on surfing and weather conditions here on the island of the Gods, and the No.1 tropical surfing holiday destination and gateway to Indonesia’s surfing paradise, Bali.
Ok yesterday the 30th and I reckon a lot of you would have checked out my Bali Morning Surf and Weather Video Report through our Twitter feed directly or on our Twitter section of the baliwaves. These are pretty much a daily event for us now so make sure you take advantage of our new service it’s free and no down loading needed. Yeah you might have also noticed I loaded up a new 3 minute Surf video clip onto baliwaves as well, if not check it out. It only took around 2 hrs of collected video footage but then another almost 3 hrs to edit up and make presentable. That was my task most of the morning.
Today the 31st and like the video showed in this mornings Video Report (Twitter Feed) we were down the coast and turned up to find only one other surfer in the water with some very clean and tasty waves on offer. At that time the wind was super light out of the SSW and the tide starting to roll in. Wave height was in the chest to well over head high class with some good 50mtr plus rides on offer, but over a shallow rock bottom. By the time the tide did start to roll in the wind had also increased in strength and by the look of it wave height drop off some. It wasn’t until 11.00am that the wind did a switch and swung around the SSE-SE and pretty much off shore. By this time the learners and surf schools were well and truelly in position.
For the wind this is A typical for this time of the year as the season starts to change the off shore wind comes in later and later until it just doesn’t come. Until our next Dry Season in 2020 that is.
Weather wise it’s been another hot to very hot kind of day here on the holiday island, wind direction is still SSE – SE now at 3.55pm. If your just arriving in Bali for your vacation make sure you apply the sunscreen nice and thick if your hitting the waves or your going to get a very un comfortable lobster like sun tan.
Changing dollars to Rupiah on the streets of Bali, –1US$=Rp13,975 –1AU$=Rp9,575 —
Good Value Tip, Right now here in Bali and right across Indonesia it’s Mango season and if you know where to shop for fresh fruit you will buy these delicious morsels for around Rp10,000 – 15,000 per kilogram. It’s Mango fever time at my place I tell ya
Ok friends stay tuned right here to the original Bali surf report website (’99) cause I think we’ll be back out there on the wave hunt again tomorrow. Keep an eye on the Twitter feed ( Twitter = baliwaves) for the morning Video report.
