BALI / INDONESIA
9th – 10th November 2019
Hello surfers and lovers of Bali and thanks again for stopping by the baliwaves (Bringing you all the good things from Bali since back in 1999) for our latest news and best possible views on surfing and weather conditions here on the island of the Gods, and the No.1 tropical surfing holiday destination and gateway to Indonesia’s surfing paradise, Bali.
Yesterday the 9th we were up early, long before the birds and on our way back up the coast in search of good waves and good vibes. Our first stop was at Balian but it only took about 10 seconds for it to register that it was too big and un organised, not too mention that the surfers in the water were almost out in the shipping channel. It just looked like too much hard yakka for not enough rewards.
So we pushed on heading further into the wild west of Bali until made it to indisputably one of the longest left hand waves in Indo that breaks on a regular occurrence. Wave height was in the head to pretty well double head high class and peeling off for at least 200mtrs. It was good riding them that distance but a bit of a bummer once you flick out and see how far you have to paddle back to the line up, well bummer in a good way aye.
Today the 10th and with our afternoon surf check (9th) showing wave height dropping off fast we thought we’d head down to Uluwatu this morning and stay in touch with Indonesia’s premier surfing location. As it shows in our photo gallery (close ups) Ulu was a very clean and tidy head to well over head on the set waves. It wasn’t until around 10.00am that the wind went from a light NNW breath around to the West and then South West and started to pick up in strength. It was also around that time that the Sunday crowd started to arrive so we shot through and called it a day.
Weather wise today it’s been about as good as it can get on a Sunday. Just blue sky with light early morning wind. Right now at 2.05pm the temperature is a nice warm 31 degree’s Celsius, Humidity is at 60% and UV index is on 7. Wind direction is currently SSW – SW with gusts up to 20km/h.
Tomorrows Surf Forecast is looking a little better with a predicted slight bump in wave height and more early light wind, so make sure you get off to a good start early.
Alright that’s about me for now but make sure you tune in again tomorrow for the start of another surfing week here on the happy little holiday island of Bali.
