BALI / INDONESIA
31st January 2020
Welcome surfers and lovers of Bali and thanks again for stopping by the baliwaves (Bringing you all the good things from Bali since back in 1999) for our latest news and best possible views on surfing and weather conditions here on the island of the Gods, and the No.1 tropical surfing holiday destination and gateway to Indonesia’s surfing paradise, Bali.
This morning the wind was still light with some NW in it so after waiting for the tide to bottom out and start it’s run back in before I thought I’d take a run over to the East Coast and see what was happening at Keramas. I picked Keramas as the wind forecast was calling for fresh Westerly wind by 9.00am and most other locations would be getting a little wind slop.
Anyway as it shows wave height was lucky to be hitting the head high mark on the set waves and with a steadily building crowd that was already at 25 when I left at 10.45am. The Westerly wind did start to kick in right around the 9.00am mark. This direction makes for cross / off shore at Keramas. There was a few fun looking waves every now and again, the period between waves this morning was also super short.
Weather wise after a full and much needed night of rain we were left with a light overcast sky with some bursts of brilliant sunshine. Right now at 1.45pm the temperature is at 30 degree’s Celsius, Humidity is 67%. Wind direction is coming fresh out of the West at 12-16kmh.
Tomorrows Surf Forecast is calling a slight drop in wave height but on a much better period and a slight change in direction to the SW. Wind is predicted to be light out of the SSW-S.
Changing dollars to Rupiah (weekend rates) on the streets of Bali, –1AU$=Rp9,025 –1US$=Rp13,535
Ok so that’s us for today and it shouldn’t be too much longer before we see a bump in wave height. So hang in there and stay tuned right here to the one and only original Bali surf report.
Make sure you hit us up on FB, Insta and Twitter.
Heads up the Toll Road has also raised it’s fee to Rp12,500 each way. This road is hardly used and was built to take the pressure off the main “By Pass Rd” but has been a total failure with 95% of the road users opting to not pay the Toll.
