BALI SURF & WEATHER REPORT
24th – 25th February 2020
Hello surfers (KEEP READING BELOW) and lovers of Bali and thanks again for stopping by the baliwaves (Bringing you all the good things from Bali since back in 1999) for our latest news and best possible views on surfing and weather conditions here on the island of the Gods, and the No.1 tropical surfing holiday destination and gateway to Indonesia’s surfing paradise, Bali.
So, yesterday the 24th my morning surf check on the Outer Reefs of Tuban was only showing 1-2 footers at best breaking between Kuta Reef and Airport Left. Although at 7.20am surfing conditions were clean and almost glassy with the wind only light out of the NW. There were surfers in the water and Middle Reef was almost looking ok while the tide was still running in.
Today the 25th and as it shows in our current photo gallery I thought I’d sneak up to the Gu while conditions were looking just right for it. How ever the traffic killed it taking well over an hour for the run (but well over 2hrs for the return trip) Traffic chaos and too make it worse throw in tourists (with road rage attitudes haha) weaving in and out of the cars on scooters. As it was I just got there in time to catch the last few good waves peel through before the wind went from off shore to crap shore.
Weather wise it’s been a faultless hot and sunny Tuesday with light wind out of the N-NW early turning more to the WSW at exactly 8.35am.
Tomorrows Surf Forecast is pretty much calling the very same conditions again. Except the wave period does lengthen a little and that might do the trick.
Looking further out there is a small Tropical Depression just about to spin out of the picture down under Indonesia and has been a bit of a swell blocker. Then around the 28th-29th another real TC looks like starting to develop close to the coast of NW Australia. This one looks like it’s going to bring some grief for coastal communities along the NW top end and hang around for a few days moving to and from the coast. It will also mean more fresh West to South West wind for us in Indo until it fizz’s out.
