BALI SURF & WEATHER REPORT
26th – 27th February 2020
Hello surfers (KEEP READING BELOW) and lovers of Bali and thanks again for stopping by the baliwaves (Bringing you all the good things from Bali since back in 1999) for our latest news and best possible views on surfing and weather conditions here on the island of the Gods, and the No.1 tropical surfing holiday destination and gateway to Indonesia’s surfing paradise, Bali.
Yesterday the 26th and it was just a nasty old day weather wise here on the island of the Gods. The early morning had strong W-WSW wind and rain so we pulled the covers over the pitch and took it easy. But I do have to say by late morning the there was maybe an hour or so window when the wind backed off and the sun shone, I missed it sorry.
Today the 27th and early this morning conditions were looking good, from here at home anyway. Just a light variable wind here to the immediate South of Kuta. As it shows we took a run over to the East Coast. I do have to say that after dealing with the traffic in the Seminyak to Canggu area the East Coast is a drivers delight. Divided Twin lanes South to North and no Westerners learning to ride motorcycles to dodge.
But anyway even though by the time I made it over to the East side (waiting for the tide to start filling in). The wind had already turned fresh on shore. It actually felt like it was coming out of the ESE but reality of it was straight South. Wave wise there were a few solid set waves and just about making the double head high class on some of the freak sets. Around 25-30 surfers in the water and plenty of waves pretty much coming through non stop.
Weather wise it’s been a nice Thursday and right now at 2.40pm there’s still plenty of blue sky with the temp on 30 degree’s Celsius. The wind is stronger now coming out of the SSW-WSW at 15knot+
Good news with that second TC down under Indonesia is that it’s path has changed and will burn itself out down through the Top End of Australia as a Tropical Depression.
Changing dollars to Rupiah on the streets of Bali, –1US$=13,950 –1AU$=Rp9,070 So if your coming over to Bali don’t go changing too much cash at home or in the airport, wait till you get here and do it at the better known Authorized dealers.
Tomorrows Surf Forecast is showing me to expect a slight drop[ in wave height and take another second off the period to go with it. Swell direction is also favoring more to the SSW if you know what that means. Hopefully we will see some light wind early before that WSW-SSW devil wind kicks in to continue feeding the system down off the “top end”.
We are very happy to welcome aboard the baliwaves to our new friends at the luxurious Manduna Resort on the island of Rote. For a limited time we will be offering some discount to you surfers.
