BALI SURF & WEATHER REPORT
10th – 11th March 2020
Hello surfers (KEEP READING BELOW) and lovers of Bali and thanks again for stopping by the baliwaves (Bringing you all the good things from Bali since back in 1999) for our latest news and best possible views on surfing and weather conditions here on the island of the Gods, and the No.1 tropical surfing holiday destination and gateway to Indonesia’s surfing paradise, Bali.
Yesterday and the previous days for that matter I have been out dragging my camera equipment around but to no prevail. I did take the hour drive over to Keramas yesterday morning but didn’t bother shooting the 1-1ft plus waves on offer. There was a maybe 2 footer every 15 mins but mostly just Japanese kids in the water anyway. But I did get lucky and bumped into an old friend from Gianyar that I hadn’t seen in a few years
This morning I was down the beach for a 7.00am surf check and at first it was still looking pretty lifeless 1-1ft plus between Kuta Reef and Airport Left with maybe fishing better suited for today. But as I was about to head back home depressed a few bigger 2-3 footers started to break out on Middle Reef, the biggest waves I’ve seen on the Outer Reefs of Tuban in the last couple of weeks. Such a relief to see some waves again today so I grabbed some camera and headed up to Canggu.
As it shows in some of today’s gallery wave height was in the 2-3ft+ range with the Pererenan right hander delivering the best waves. By the time I arrived due to some grid locked traffic in the area the wind had already turned light on shore but the waves were still pretty clean.
You might also notice in a couple of the photos just how crowded it was in the surf at Canggu, the beach and street was also just as crowded. A big contrast to where we live just to the South of Kuta, almost a ghost town. I actually wished I had a face mask with me today.
Weather wise it’s been your typlical Bali type of weather, hot and sunny. The wind has been swinging about all over the compass and right now it might even have a touch of East in it, S-SSE.
Changing dollars to Rupiah on the streets of Bali, –1AU$=Rp9,150 –1US$=Rp14,150
Tomorrows Swell Forecast is saying to expect similar sized waves again with more light and variable wind. Me I’d like to think it will be a touch bigger tomorrow with the period jumping up to 12-14 seconds. I think our change of season is getting closer.
Ok look the power has just gone off here at home again and my lap top has crap all battery in it so that’s it for now. Lucky I have my phone for a “hot spot connection”
ATTENTION Keramas Boardriders Club will be running their club contest on the 15th of this month and would be stoked I’m sure if anyone could contribute to the prize list in anyway. Even come over and support the boys on the day. Contact us if you want to be part of the family
