BALI SURF & WEATHER REPORT
17th – 18th March 2020
Hello surfers (KEEP READING BELOW) and lovers of Bali and thanks again for stopping by the baliwaves (Bringing you all the good things from Bali since back in 1999) for our latest news and best possible views on surfing and weather conditions here on the island of the Gods, and the No.1 tropical surfing holiday destination and gateway to Indonesia’s surfing paradise, Bali.
Ok well as we all know our Worlds have all been turned up side down, or more like thrown into a tumble dryer. Well for now anyway, hopefully if we all play our part in this calamity of events we will get through it and everyone can soon get back to coming and being guests of our Balinese hosts here in Bali again. But for now most countries are being locked down and Indonesia is included, I think it’s all for our own safety.
Travel into Bali is still possible as the Indonesian government is only not issuing VOA’s or extensions on any VOA’s through until around the 20th of April 2020. But travel to Bali is still permitted by applying for a visa at your closest Indonesian Embassy. Plus you need a clean bill of health from a Dr. Then pass all the temperature scans if you can find an air line that is still flying here to Bali..
So it is possible, I do class surf trips to Bali as “essential travel” don’t you. It has gone very quite over here and even us at baliwaves as popular as our Home Stay Villa is have hardly had a guest here over the last 30 days. It’s happening right across the board in the tourism industry but here in Indo there’s no Government bail outs or cash injections. Absolutely nothing for the little guys over here just some tax breaks for the big players. But anyway we will do our best to keep you up today with us here in Bali so feel free to email us at any time or send / transfer money hehe..
For now I’m just going to throw some old archived vintage Padang Padang photos up that I shot back in 2011.
Yesterday the 17th and I have to say we had a very fun day in the surf . I was lucky enough to surf with an Aussie mate of mine and we lucked into some super clean head to almost double head high long and fun rights. Only 10 surfers or so in the water and everyone except maybe 1 surfer seemed to be friendly and enjoying themselves.
This morning my 7.30am surf check (video report on Twitter and Instagram) had some pretty 2-4ft waves breaking between Kuta Reef and Airport Left and there were still a few surfers out there enjoying their last dig at it before they ship out. The most ironic thing this morning was that the ESE Tradewind has been blowing since yesterday bring us into a very early start to our Dry Season.
Weather wise it’s been a fine and sunny day right through until some cloud started to fill in toward late afternoon. Earlier this morning the wind kicked off out of the NE but soon swund around to the ESE-SE by mid morning and stayed there all day.
Ok friends of Bali stay safe and stay in the loop here on the baliwaves
We have also started collecting some Luxury Villa Rentals to show the people that still want to come to Bali and enjoy the waves and weather but prefer privacy and luxury, so check out the first one we have listed in our “Latest News” section on the dot com.
We also are stoked to have Kuta Lines Surf Clothing and accessories joing us on the baliwaves, so check out their on line store and score some quality products, not made in China but here in Indonesia.
Stay tuned with us via our Instagram and FB pages for just that little bit extra goodness out of Indonesia.
