BALI SURF & WEATHER REPORT
26th April Bali
Firstly we do know from first hand experience here in Bali with absolutely no support other than friends and family. We would also like to offer a free promotional service to any other small outfits that are surf related here in Indonesia and Australia. So in turn we have told all our sponsors that we will be waving any fee’s until things are getting back to normal again. Please contact us to see if your eligible for free promotion on baliwaves. We are surfers doing this for our fellow surfers and will hopefully continuing to do our thing for many years to come.
Ok I’ve been keeping busy and keeping the baliwaves as fresh as possible with new up dates on our Bali Corona Virus Blog and also a new 6min Video Clip from Uluwatu that I shot back in 2006. Lucky for us that I do have a large collection of video and photos that I’ve collected over the years that we can keep digging into to keep help keep the Bali / Indo stoke alive and burning brightly in you.
Surfing is supposed to be off limits here in Bali and most other popular surrounding tourist destinations to the East and West of Bali. Most people have been respecting the rules set down by the Indonesian Governments except for a select crew of “special units” mostly from Europe and Russia who think they are special and the rules of Indonesia don’t apply to them. Well I did hear some news this morning that the Army is now coming in to control and keep these tourists off the beach at the most affected area’s, really, it was just a matter of time.
From all I’ve seen on line from friends who live close by the beach the waves have indeed been pumping the last week. Looking at the today’s swell forecast predictions it also looks like the next week is going to be even better. It’s really going to test out the discipline of a lot of local and International surfers. I’ve posted a few images thanks to StormSurf the most accurate swell forecasting site for Indonesia on the Net.
The bulk of today’s photo gallery I’ve posted is from Kuta Reef back in 2008 sometime. Featuring a lot of old friends that I used to share waves with out there on an almost daily basis, or when ever KR was cranking. There’s also a couple of images from my mate Dave Tinson taken down at Uluwatu during a RipCurl Search Event. Baliwaves usually gets media access to these events and I think if I remember correctly I let DT represent us on that day.
Weather wise here in Tuban it’s been your standard Bali type Dry Season weather. Hot and humid days with fresh ESE off shore wind (Trade wind).
Thanks again friends for your continued support of the original Bali surf report website.

How are those units still getting into Bali mate?
Hi Stan, the majority of these people fled Europe when the number of infections and deaths were racing upwards. Fleeing to Bali.. then the Indonesian waved the visa laws giving everyone on a VOA free extensions so these Euro’s never went back and stayed here in Bali as what most of them see as just an extended holiday. They now believe that they are surfers and have the right to still be able to go surfing even though the Bali government has closed all beaches. Most locals are afraid to go to these area’s as we all know that the virus entered Bali from Europe (first cases and death was from Europe).
