BALI SURF & WEATHER REPORT
3rd April 2020
Hello surfers (KEEP READING BELOW) and lovers of Bali and thanks again for stopping by the baliwaves (Bringing you all the good things from Bali since back in 1999) for our latest news and best possible views on surfing and weather conditions here on the island of the Gods, and the No.1 tropical surfing holiday destination and gateway to Indonesia’s surfing paradise, Bali.
Hey friends of Bali and thanks for keeping us in your daily loop. Just to keep you up today with us here in these crazy times of doom and gloom. Firstly we have been trying to keep everyone up to date via our Bali Lock down Blog just above this surf report https://www.baliwaves.com/2020/04/bali-lock-down-corona-virus-march-2020/ This mainly gives you a look around the streets and beaches here and some info on what it’s like to be here on the ground in Bali during these unknown times.
We are abiding with the Governor of Bali and the Indonesian Presidents advice of staying at home to keep our families safe. So we can’t just go out and ride around on bikes looking for waves. This only increases the chance of becoming infected and infecting others. So lucky for us and you that we have been shooting photos and video for over 20yrs here in Bali and have a solid archive of classic photos and video footage to keep digging into. So here’s another round from the vault taken over at Keramas on the 19th of December 2010. I picked Keramas today seeing as though I just received news that Keramas has been officially closed to surfers today.
Many other beaches have also been closed but still there are a lot of tourists here that are hell bent on scoring un crowded waves at the possible expense of the Balinese health and safety. Today I also had news in that the Police had been down the beach here telling boat captains (reef taxis) not to ferry tourists out to the reefs. I’ve heard other locations have been closed but there have been tourists looking for back doors or turned backs to get access. Non resident tourists should leave and go back to their families in their own countries is the advice that I have heard.
Today here in Bali here on the Outer Reefs wave height is only smallish between Kuta Reef and Airport Left. Even though the charts are showing some size on a decent period. But the direction is favoring the East Coast and I’m sure there would still be some good waves from Nusa Dua to Keramas. I’m also sure there are still surfers in the water at most of these places. Early this morning the wind was light out of the ENE but now at 2.15pm it’s blowing hard out of the ESE at Trade Wind strength.
Ok friends stay safe and keep your heads down, if you want to get through it then for now where ever you are just stay at home. Keep an eye on the baliwaves.com and we will do our best to keep all you Bali (real) people up to date.
