BALI SURF & WEATHER REPORT
14th June 2020
Firstly we do know from first hand experience how tough it is here in Bali with absolutely no support other than friends and family. We would also like to offer a free promotional service to any other small outfits / businesses that are surf related here in Indonesia and Australia. So in turn we have told all our sponsors that we will be waving any fee’s until things are getting back to normal again. Please contact us to see if your eligible for free promotion on baliwaves.
Special thanks to our good friends that have kicked in some dollars to help my family and I keep food on our table, lights on and baliwaves.com being able to help keep you in the loop.
baliwaves.com is happy to be able to give our friends at JOWA SURF a little love with some promo on us. As we mention above times are tough and we are here to help any small local business with a little more awareness through baliwaves.com Contact us to get your FREE promo
Ok sorry for the delay in getting a new Bali photo gallery up for you guys / girls, but don’t worry we have been keeping busy all the same. This one takes us back to better days at Canggu in August of 2010, 11 years ago. There’s also a few photos of some grommets that have turned out to be hard core ripsters, plus a couple of images of then ripsters now retired from professional surfing in Indonesia. Yes these photos were taken before the Hipster, Euro surf school, sunset cocktails and beach night club boom that we know in the area these days.
From all news on the beach open / closed scene it’s hard to get a real accurate fix on things. I have heard Uluwatu and Balangan have been opened. Kuta and Legian beach I’ve heard are still closed to the public, while at Canggu Echo beach to Pererenan are also open. Further up the coast in the Jembrana region I’ve heard news of Balian and Medewi also open to surfers. If anyone has any news that may help or up date this news please feel free to let us know, no need to yell at us ok hahaha.
Here in South Kuta the Outer Reefs, Kuta Reef to Airport Left and Right have been open to surfers. I don’t know if it is official but I have been down the beach there working on my fishing boats and have seen plenty of surfers getting taken out to the reefs. I also took a trip out there for a closer look and there were plenty of surfers at all 3 of the main sections and at the lesser surfers sections. So good to see the reef boat taxi groups all starting to make a little money. I really find it amazing just how many Europeans stayed here in Bali through the early stages of the pandemic and still here now, literally thousands it appears.
Today surf wise here in South Kuta wave height is down in the 2-3ft range with maybe just a few slightly bigger ones hitting Middle Reef. The off shore ESE – SE Trade wind kicked in early this morning and has been blowing hard off shore since 8.00am, currently gusting to around 15knot+. I’ll try and get down the beach for an afternoon surf check later this afternoon so make sure you follow baliwaves on Instagram and Twitter.
Weather wise after an over night shower it’s just been hot and sunny blue sky. Temperature wise right now at 1.55pm it’s a warm 31 degree’s Celsius, Humidity is at 82%. Wind direction is East at 22km/h. The next tide will be a 1.6mtr High at 4.09pm.
On the Swell Forecast department this coming week is looking pretty good. Hopefully tomorrow the 15th or early the day after we should see some more size hitting the island. Then followed by back to back swells for at least the next 7 days delivering some good sized waves with plenty of punch. I guess it won’t be long before we find out right.
Ok friends thanks again for all your support and please stay tuned right here to the original Bali surf report website (since 1999)
