BALI SURF & WEATHER REPORT
10th – 11th August 2020
Firstly, Special thanks to our good friends that have kicked in some dollars to help my family and I keep food on our table, lights on and baliwaves.com being able to help keep you in the loop. We do know from first hand experience how tough it is here in Bali with absolutely no support other than friends and family.
Hello surfers and Bali people and thanks for taking the time out to drop by the baliwaves. Well yesterday the 10th and our morning surf check on the Outer reefs of Tuban was still showing some nice fun sized waves in the 3-4ft+ sector between Kuta Reef and Airport left / Right. The sun was out while I was on the beach and I’d say that some of you also got to see our morning video report we posted. The difference yesterday morning was that the wind at 9.30am was still fresh on shore out of the West. Usually this time of the year the ESE-SE Trade wind is usually with us. It wasn’t until midday that the wind did swing more to the SSE-SE.
Today’s surf check on the Reefs was showing slightly smaller waves with 2- 3ft+ or chest to over head high waves between Kuta Reef and Airports (re Bali surf & weather video reports on @baliwaves Instagram account. At the time the tide was still running up for a 1.8mtr High scheduled for around 2.00pm. There were a dozen or so surfers on Kuta Reef and there were some head high waves. Middle Reef looked the best and there some slightly bigger waves, although I didn’t see any surfers catch any waves while I was looking. Likewise I didn’t notice any surfers down on the Airport left section, which is a little hard to believe.
Weather wise here in South Kuta it’s been a mostly hot and sunny day. Although it has been a little bit more overcast this afternoon. Currently now at 4.55pm the temperature is on 28 degree’s Celsius, Humidity is at 75%. Wind direction is fresh out of the SE at 24 km/h.
A big thanks to the guys down at the new Swell Bali surfer hotel right by the waves at Bingin for sending us some photos from their back yard, namely the mechanical lefts of Bingin. You can find the Swell Bali Hotel here on this link ( https://www.swellbali.com/ )
Tomorrows Surf Forecast is predicting a nice bump in wave height that should keep building through out the day, almost doubling in size but more SSW direction. Wind wise it is predicted to be similar as today, light and variable early then dedicating to the SE.
Ok that’s about me for now but I do plan to get out and hopefully shoot up some more photos and maybe a little more video for our next clip. SAo thanks again and stay tuned here on the original Bali surf report website since 1999.
For those tuning into the site from here in Bali please take care and remember to follow Bali’s health protocols, keep a safe distance from others and always wear a face mask when out in public.
