BALI SURF & WEATHER REPORT
9th June 2021
Hello Bali people and thanks for stopping by the baliwaves (the original Bali surf report website since 1999, for surfers by surfers) We hope everyone is doing the best they can in order to get this crazy World back on track and life and lifes back to where they were before this pandemic began. I’m sure you all know that Bali’s most well know area’s namely Kuta / Legian are still like ghost towns with most doors closed and way too many for sale / rent signs on display.
Here in Tuban just to the South of Kuta is also barren of tourism and also doing it very tough. Usually all the guest hous and Home stay’s are all doing well. But the last year and a half they are all empty, including our place. If any of our friends out there can spare us a dollar it would shore make a big difference for my family. Ok we as you all know wave height the last week here in Bali has been mostly in the micro size. Even so I was still feeling a little guilty for not trying to shoot some photos. So today it got the better of me and I headed up to Canggu to see what was on offer for surfers and photographers alike.
For a change in scenery I decided to drive in through the Pererenan end and bypass the Echo beach scene. I can honestly say it was like a breath of fresh air. Driving past layered rice paddy’s and way less traffic it was up lifting. But as it shows in these photos wave height was only just in the waist to chest high range. Although I did see one or two slightly over head freak sets. The tide was almost on the top of a 2.4Mtr New Moon high tide and the wind was still light and variable.
Definitely a good day for learners and local grommets and these were the folks mostly making up the numbers out in the Pererenan line up.
Weather wise it was a little overcast while we were on the scene but now at 12.30pm the midday sun is doing it’s thing and providing us with a top temp of 31 degree’s Celsius.
The next tide today will be a 0.4mtr Low at 4.45pm. As I mentioned we do have a New Moon rising tonight.
Tomorrow’s Surf Forecast is saying that we should see a slight bump in wave height and also in the period. The wind should be similar as it was today with light variable breeze early before the ESE Tradw ind kicks in around mid morning.
