Bali Surf & Weather report (PPKM)
10th – 11th September 2021
Hello surfers and welcome to the weekend here on the baliwaves (The original Bali surf report website since 1999). Bali is still currently under micro restrictions (PPKM) and has been now extended again through till the September 13th. Although Bali’s domestic airport and inter island ferry services are open it is now only for fully vaccinated people.
Well last week I was out trying my best to catch some fish for the family dinner table but not much luck, but enough to get us through a couple of days. Wave height has only been in the 2-3ft+ plus for the most of until our latest swell started to show on the 9th. Then delivered the goods here on the Outer Reefs of Tuban yesterday the 10th. As it shows in our latest photo gallery, I was out there hanging in the channel with my camera gear and managed to get a few photos. I know where I would have rather have been.
I was out there as the tide was pushing in and as the tide crept in so did the set waves keep getting a little bigger. Maybe you saw the video reports I loaded on our FB page yesterday while I was out there. Kuta Reef was cranking through waves well over head for the 30 odd surfers in the water. The local surfers were dominating KR as they always do.
Surfing conditions were pretty testing with the ESE Trade wind building in strength throughout the morning and winding up into the 20knot class by 10.30am. As you know it’s hard work paddling into a howling head wind.
Weather wise yesterday it was 50 / 50
Today the 11th and wave height has backed off a touch between Kuta Reef and Airport left but still plenty of waves on offer. Earlier the ESE wind was only light but now at 10.00am it’s starting to gear up into the 1012knot+ range.
The next tide today in Bali will be a 2.3mtr High at 12.23pm
Weather wise this morning it’s been mostly overcast and still looking pretty grey out there right now. The temperature is currently on 28C and the Humidity level at 89%. Wind is actually 21km/h out of the ESE
Tomorrow’s Surf Forecast is calling for wave height to keep fading down a little more and the better-known swell magnet locations will be where the waves are at. With a bit of luck, the wind will also take a bit of a break tomorrow, ESE.
Long Range Forecast we should see a small bump in wave height on the 13th and then a slightly better bump on the 16th. Then around the 19th another moderate swell should be hitting Bali.
On the Bali Corona Virus situation, it appears Bali and Indonesia is through it’s second wave of the Delta variant with the number of new cases slashed way down. Although I am still hearing from friends of more cases from their family and friends. Also sadly there has been too many deaths in the older population lately. But for more information and news on the pandemic please take a look at https://www.facebook.com/groups/BaliCovid
Ok we really need to give our heartfelt deepest Thanks to everyone who has helped us continue to survive over here with no income of our own for the best part of 2 years. Hopefully we are getting through the worst of things, fingers crossed I guess because we have been saying that since day 1. Maybe 2022 will see the return of visitors to Bali with the World vaccination program making good progress. So Thanks folks for helping us get this far and not too much further to go
So please if any of our friends can spare a dollar or two or order an original baliwaves tee shirt (also now in long sleeve) you would not only be helping my family out but also others in the production sequence. https://www.baliwaves.com/2021/06/help-baliwaves-get-through-the-bali-corona-virus-cash-flow-crisis-with-a-rp90000-original-baliwaves-tee-shirt/

You get all the benefits of our un biased knowledge of surf / fishing information. Plus get to eat real Balinese food from one of the best Balinese / Indonesian chefs on the island (my wife) as guests at our table.
