Hi crew and thanks for staying tuned into the baliwaves.com and all our other social media platforms. To stay up today with what is happening here on the World’s No.1 surfing holiday destination of Bali.
Yesterday the 16th and my surf check on the Outer Reefs of Tuban was showing 1-3ft+ waves breaking between Kuta Reef and Airport Left / Right. The wind was light on shore early but around 10.30am saw it shift to the ESE and off shore along Bali’s West side. Then at 4pm there was a nasty looking rain squall just out off the coast. Seemingly to have formed around the Canggu area and quickly made it’s way down to the Southern end of the island. Bringing with it a fresh NW wind.
At the time Ketut was down at Uluwatu with our little handy cam video camera shooting the Racetrack section on the lower end of the tide. Hence these frame grabs from a few of the clips Ketut shot. I’ll see how we go for time and throw a quick video of yesterday’s Racetrack waves as well.
Today the 17th and I was down on the beach around 7.30am having a gander at the waves. Wave height between Kuta Reef and Airport left looked to have dropped off a touch over night with only 1-2 footers breaking. The tide was running in for a fairly solid 2.3mtr High scheduled for 10.59am. So, I’d say the early morning would have been the best option for a paddle. The wind was light out of the NW early but swung to the E-ENE by 8.30am.
Pretty solid crowds of learners on mini mals turning up the last few days. More than likely due to the cross on shore winds up in the Canggu area. But I have to say perfect conditions and size to get a taste of the Outer Reefs.
Weather wise today it’s a classic, perfect blue sky and now off shore E-ESE wind. Right now at 10.20am the temperature is a warm 30 degrees Celsius and the Humidity is up there on 78%. Wind is E-ESE at 10knot.
The next tide will be a 2.3mtr High @ 10.59am. For the complete tidal info for Bali and all Indo check out our friends at https://www.tideschart.com/
Tomorrows Surf Forecast is calling for wave height to continue to fade out and the ESE in Trade wind fashion to continue to blow.
