Hello everyone and I hope your weekend has been a good one. Here in Bali on Saturday wave height had as predicted dropped off some leaving only 1-3ft waves breaking between Kuta Reef and Airport left. With the wind a strong and gusty 15-18knot ESE wind.
Just out of interest last night I had to pick up a friend from the airport arriving on a Virgin flight from Brisbane. His flight was supposed to land at 10.30pm but after delays and a divert to Darwin his plane landed just before 1.00am. This seems to be the norm this week with Virgin flights out of Brisbane diverting to Darwin to “re fuel” This puts their arrival schedule 2 hrs in the red and could create problems with their pick up transport. Also at 11.00pm last night at the airport I walked right through the International airport and down to the Domestic terminal as well and there was not one single shop open to even buy a bottle of water. So, if your on a later flight make sure you have your own water at least.
Today the 19th and after a handful of hours sleep we were up and on our way down to Uluwatu. We knew there wouldn’t be a lot of swell or options for a surf available so Uluwatu is a pretty safe bet. We arrived around 7.45am to find wave height in the 2-4ft range (chest to well over head). As it shows in our latest photo gallery surfing conditions were clean and smooth with a fresh off shore E-ESE wind. As expected with the lack of locations on offer there were a few in the water at Ulu this morning. We counted 85 surfers spread from Temples all the way down to the Racetrack (around 800mtrs)
Weather wise today it was mostly sunny with a couple of clouds passing through from time to time. Right now at 3.45pm the temperature is still a very warm 30C, Humidity level is at 77%. Wind direction is still coming out of the ESE at 15-17knots.
The next tide today will be a 0.3mtr High at 7.56pm.
Tomorrow’s Surf Forecast is calling for a bump in wave height but todays 14 second period remains the same tomorrow. The report is also calling for more fresh and gusty ESE off shore Trade wind with afternoon gusts up to 18-20knots.
