Hi folks and on the 24th wave height was dropping off but we still found some nice 3-4 footers breaking down at Indonesia’s premier surfing location of Uluwatu. We arrived around 7.00am to be greeted by the car park locals that are out in force most mornings enjoying the early mornings. Yes, monkeys everywhere most mornings at Ulu and I do have to say they have gone next level. Just while I’m talking about monkeys. A couple of days back while we were in our favorite warung and focused on watching the waves. A couple of commando style monkeys entered the warung from behind us, silently coming off the roof and maneuvering underneath the tables to about 2ft behind me where some surfers had left their zipped up back packs. Without a sound one of the monkeys had un zipped the back pack and gone through the gear and extracted what looked like a phone in a case. As soon as they had the goods they gave up all stealth and just bolted out onto the rail holding their prize in full view of everyone. They were waiting for the pay off and trade. After being offered one banana they refused to drop their booty. It wasn’t until an extra boiled egg was then added to the pay off before they dropped the case and retreated to the tree’s and their next big score. Beware of the monkeys.
Today’s photo gallery was shot down at Uluwatu on the 24th
Yesterday the 25th and pretty much right on que a new swell started to show here in Bali. With the predicted strong off shore ESE wind er decided to go back down to the bukit end of the island and see what Balangan was offering under the cliff. On arrival it didn’t really look like there was a new swell but after watching for 5 mins it was pretty obvious that it had arrived with some solid double head high waves hitting the point and peeling down the reef at a nice angle.
Crowd wise the numbers were good and there were some long rides for those that were Balangan wave savey.
Weather wise the weather has been back to dry season with a little early morning cloud turning into warm to hot days and clear blue sky by midday.
Today the 26th and it’s only just gone 5.50am here at home but as soon as I finish off this report we will be heading back out to see what’s happening surf and weather wise here on the World’s No.1 tropical surfing holiday destination.
The next tide today will be a 2.2mtr High at 8.13am
Today’s surf forecast is saying that we can expect wave height to be slowly backing off a little through out the day. Stay tuned to us on our baliwaves Facebook page for more news and video up date later this morning.
