Hello Bali lovers and thanks for dropping by the baliwaves for the latest news and best views. Going back to the 12th where we left off after our last report and things were looking very good. We were back down on the black sand beaches again and wave height was a nice fun sized 3-5ft (head to double head high). I can’t say it wasn’t crowded but there were still opportunities to snavel a few good ones. We were on location from 6.30am and pulled the plug when the wind turned more to the West and more cross on shore.
Weather wise it was a good surf day if you were in the comfort of a car. Not your best day to be riding around on a motorcycle with shifty rainy weather and slippery wet roads.
Yesterday the 13th and we rolled the dice again and headed back down to the same spot. Knowing it was going to be a touch smaller but hoping to still get a few decent waves. Alas, arriving at 6.15am to find 1 surfer already out there and another paddling out. But not many waves breaking. Maybe when the tide turns we thought and hang around. Slowly wave height was starting to bump up into the 2-3ft (waist to head high) range. But it wasn’t long after that a couple of large surf school groups turned up , adding another 30 surfers to the line up and a little bit of mayhem.
Weather wise it was a good old hot and sunny Bali day.
Today the 14th “Rahajeng Rahinan Kuningan” and so far I’ve been stuck at home doing home stuff so far. I will make it down the beach to do a surf check on the Outer Reefs later this afternoon after lunch, currently 11.40am here right now. So drop check our baliwaves on FB later on for the run down.
Weather wise outside right now we have a big blue sky with the temperature on 31C, humidity is at 70%. Wind direction is W – WNW at 7-10knt.
The next tide today will be a 2.0mtr High at 2.44pm.
Tomorrows Surf Forecast has the wave models calling for a slight bump in size, but on a slightly lower period out of the SSW. Wind direction is predicted to be a little stronger with early morning WNW before dedicating to the W – WSW late morning.
Ok friends thanks again and great to see Bali getting back to normal again after the crazy Christmas / New Years period that happens every year. Yesterday it was a pleasure to drive. Today also see’s the final ceremony day for the Balinese called Kuningan. So we will all be able to take a deep breath and slow down again after today’s prayers.
