Hello Bali people and thanks again from stopping by the baliwaves for today’s latest news and best views from here on the World’s No.1 tropical surfing holiday destination. We today I have a few photos from yesterday the 22nd and a few shots from around the jump off point at Serangan. We were on the boat this morning (23rd) around 6.15am and things were going real nice. After the 25 minute boat ride we pulled up behind the break to see some 2-3ft backs with a clean off shore wind. There was already 3 other surfers in the water.

Yeah like I said things were looking real nice. I clocked up 7 quick waves in the first 45 mins and it was all smiles. But everyone knew what was going to happen at any minute. I’d had many friends tell me just how crowded with surf schools Serangan was at this time of the year. Pre pandemic it wasn’t much different if my memory serves me well. But today I wasn’t just up for it as boat after boat arrived all with 10-15 surfers that packed out the line up with zombies paddling around in circles for every wave that moved.

It was dangerous to say the least so we called it a day after an hour of easy going no hassle waves. I though it was just because it was only smallish, but one of the surfers that joined us in our boat back to the beach assured me that a few days back it was almost just about in double head high conditions. Any was I’m happy with my 7 waves.

Weather wise it was overcast early then switching to hot and sunny around 9.30am. Right now at 3.55pm it’s clouding over again with the promise of rain later tonight. The temp is currently on 31C and humidity is at 80%. Wind direction has been pretty much out of the West all day currently doing 23km/h.

The next tide in Bali today will be a 0.4mtr Low at 6.14pm

STOP THE PRESS– I was sent a couple of photos a little while ago of someone’s foot that had been mauled by what would appear to be a very small shark. Any shark bit is bad of course and it’s a bummer that it has happened again up on a very popular West Coast location. I think this makes N0.8 in the last 10yrs.
