Hello all you Bali people and thanks again for tuning into the baliwaves This morning Ketut and I went our separate ways. Ketut went to Canggu and shot these current photos and I went to Serangan and got a few waves, it was a pretty sweet deal I reckon. As it shows in our mans photos Canggu was still delivering some 2-4 footers with the main focus on the left hand sand bar section. Ketut was on the scene around 6.30am and said it was still pretty quite, then by 7.00am there were 20-25 and by 8.00am when he packed up more like 30. But it was looking pretty good so I can fully understand the solid numbers and red hot surfing that usually goes down at the Gu.
Me, I was in the water just as the sun was popping over the horizon and was all smiles with only 3 other surfers in sight and some perfect d shaped right handers bending in very nicely and well over head on the set waves. We racked up a few quick ones early. Usually Serangan gets packed with learner Korean surf schools arriving around 8.00am That usually gives a bloke a good 2hr session, perfect. But this morning the first boat load of 10 turned up at 7.20am and immediately paddled to the inside and started to crash into each other. But this crew was pretty good with their surf guides trying to keep control of their students and allow everyone else (us) to keep getting a few waves. So everything was still good. It was by the time I had about 10 waves and just about done that the real boat loads started to turn up. 3-4 more boats pilled in with 10-15 learners in each boat. So the early birds got the worms and got out of there in tact. If only I had a water tight GoPro hey.
Weather wise today it was a little overcast early but by 9.00am we had a mostly blue sky. Right now at 3.30pm the temperature is still a warm 32C, humidity is at 69% and the wind is now out of the WSW @ 13km/h
Tomorrow’s Surf Forecast is calling for similar size again with maybe a around the bottom of the tide. Wind direction is predicted to be mostly out of the W-WNW early before dedicating to the W=WSW around midday.
Ok that’s me and Congratulations to Jai Pearce for winning the “Best Viewer” sunglasses prize through our baliwaves Face Book page. We will be back chasing waves again somewhere tomorrow so stay tuned to the baliwaves for the latest news and best views. We also have a new fully edited 3 min video clip on our baliwaves YouTube page as well so check it out and hit the like and subscribe button.
If anyone of our regulars has an old GoPro at home they would like to donate to us at baliwaves we would be forever grateful. I did have a GoPro 7 but last year the rubber seal covering the on/off button perished and is now not water tight. email me please
