Hi everyone and welcome back to your baliwaves for the latest news and best views on today’s surfing and weather conditions. Direct from your first choice tropical surfing holiday destination. Monday’s are always better in Bali !
This morning I made the call to stay reasonably close to home here on the West Coast. To a location that just loves the early morning light and variable wind on offer this time of the year. As it shows in our 54 strong photo gallery thanks to Ketut it was indeed pumping through lots of perfect left and rights in the chest to over head high class. There were a few in the water with 20-25 on the main left hander and then another 10-15 scattered through the middle of the beach. Even with the tide low there were another 10 on the high tide only right hand river mouth section.
Surfing conditions remain clean and glassy right through until 9.30am when the wind shifted and dedicated to the West and on shore. I’m pretty sure we found the best waves on the island this morning with only 2-4footers hitting Uluwatu with an early cross shore wind and even over on the East coast I’ve had reports of only 2-3ft waves at the ever popular Keramas.
Currently the Tide has just passed through a 2.3mtr High (1.08pm) and running out for a 0.6mtr Low at 7.28pm tonight.
Weather wise today it’s been a tip top Monday with nothing but blue sky. Right now at 1.50pm the temperature is on 31C with the humidity at 74%. Wind direction is currently coming out of the SSE-S at 8-19km/h.
Tomorrow’s Surf Forecast is predicting wave height to pretty much stay the same as today on a SW trajectory but with the period dropping from 15 down to 12 seconds. Wind direction is predicted to be all over the shop again but with a light ENE to kick off.
Scam tips; This is not a massive issue but just one to be aware of if you use taxi’s here in Bali. Over the last 5yrs just before the pandemic I had some issues with taxi’s and their “meters” that had been tampered with. Totally obvious when you see a taxi meter ticking over every few second. Last night we were coming home from Kuta and the standard fare is always (since the petrol price hike) is Rp25-30K. Our fare was double that last night and it did seem odd that the driver was rambling on about nothing the whole ride, keeping us distracted. I did pull him up when we got out and he, the driver just grinned. At least with a fast ticking meter it was obvious, the slower doctored meter is going to catch a lot of people. Please beware or just don’t care, the choice is yours.
If anyone of our regulars has an old GoPro at home they would like to donate to us at baliwaves we would be forever grateful. I did have a GoPro 7 but last year the rubber seal covering the on/off button perished and is now not water tight. Drop me a line Please
