Hi everyone and welcome back to your baliwaves for the latest news and best views on today’s surfing and weather conditions. Direct from your first choice tropical surfing holiday destination. Ok so yesterday the 15th I had a bit of a sore head, self inflicted. So we called a lay day and waited before heading out again this morning.
Sunday the 12th dawned a nice clear blue sky with hardly any breeze excpet for a very light ENE’r. Ketut took a run up to The Gu to find a very low morning tide but with some nice clean and punchy lefts breaking over the Pererenan Sand Bar. Being a Sunday there was a little surfer traffic in the water with up to 25 on the left and 3 hopefuls trying to right the rocky right hand river mouth section. With a such a beautiful morning here in Bali there was also no shortage of beach lovers along the foreshore.
The next tide today will be a 0.5mtr Low just around sunset at 6.47pm
Weather wise outside right now at 3.10pm it is a very warm 31C with the humidity at 74%. Wind direction is now out of the West 15km/h
Nypie Day is coming around fast so don’t forget that the 22nd is Bali’s day of silence and calmness. No cars, bikes, planes or lights the perfect day of planet rejuvenation along with the Balinese mythical beliefs. By far this is my favorite day of the year and we will be very well prepared for it.
Just a quickly for Sunday friends and I haven’t forgot about that new video clip, We have some very nice footage and background fill to put together for you.
Scam tips; This is not a massive issue but just one to be aware of if you use taxi’s here in Bali. Over the last 5yrs just before the pandemic I had some issues with taxi’s and their “meters” that had been tampered with. Totally obvious when you see a taxi metter ticking over every few second. Last night we were coming home from Kuta and the standard fare is always (since the petrol price hike) is Rp25-30K. Our fare was double that last night and it did seem odd that the driver was rambling on about nothing the whole ride, keeping us distracted. I did pull him up when we got out and he, the driver just grinned. At least with a fast ticking meter it was obvious, the slower doctored meter is going to catch a lot of people. Please beware or just don’t care, the choice is yours.
If anyone of our regulars has an old GoPro at home they would like to donate to us at baliwaves we would be forever grateful. I did have a GoPro 7 but last year the rubber seal covering the on/off button perished and is now not water tight.
