Hi everyone and welcome back to your baliwaves for the latest news and best views on today’s surfing and weather conditions. Direct from your first choice tropical surfing holiday destination. Life is always better in Bali !
Ok my fine friends of Bali this morning we got a little more than we expected with some moderate set waves keeping us on our toes. The charts that I had checked earlier were not seeing it either so I reckon a few people would have been caught out un awares. Although there were rumors of a very solid crew tearing Keramas to pieces yesterday late morning.
We didn’t get off to our usual pre dawn 5.13am departure this morning as we had to make a detour to grab another surfing friend. So it wasn’t until around 6.45am that we pulled into the car park of our primary to find solid waves breaking and only 1 lone surfer sitting half way out to Australia, almost in the shipping lanes. You would have thought that a lone surfer that didn’t know where to sit would have been glad to have 2 surfers to keep him company and show him where the take off zone was. But this guy didn’t appear the slightest bit interested with any “good morning” type banter. No too worry cause it wasn’t long after we paddled out that he was washed into shore.
Some solid waves that no one got a chance to ride came through. No sir, it was just able to scramble over them or wear them on the head. Probably the first half decent swell I’ve been out in since last year some time. But like anything the wind turned on shore out of the WSW around 9.15am and by that time we had around 6 surfers in the water with us. And might I say everyone nice and friendly.
Weather wise this morning it was another overcast start to the day and plenty of evidence of earlier rain on the roads. Right now at 2.30pm the temperature is a warm 30C, humidity is at 82%. Wind direction is West at 18km/h and still mostly overcast.
Tomorrow will have a Full moon rising here in Bali and some big tidal differences to go with it over the following few days. The next tide today will be a .52mtr Low at 3.56pm. I finally have a new Tide Watch and have finally pushed enough buttons to work out to use it. Highly recommend the GShock GBX-100.
Tomorrows Surf Forecast is calling wave height to pretty much hold in there over night and then slowly taper off through out the day. Wind wise the prediction is for light and variable pretty much all day and maybe even a touch of ESE – E thrown in that could bring the West Coast back to life again.
