Hello all you awesome Bali people and thanks for all your support ! Well you haven’t missed much the last 2 days here on your first choice holiday island, well surf wise anyway is what I mean. On the 7th it was virtually flat at the better known locations or tiny and totally over run with learners on long boards at any location that had something resembling a wave. Yesterday the 8th and it was almost a carbon copy with timy tiny waves and learners learners learners. Well that’s what small surf is for right, learners so let them have it I say.
Now today the 9th and we were (I was) seeing a nice spike in wave height on the maps and hoping (praying) that we would get a few nice ones this morning. But when we arrived at keramas it was only just breaking in the 1-1ft+ region, great for learners on long boards in other words. But we hung around and had an extra cup of coffee and a few choice pork sate sticks and started to imagine that the sets were getting bigger and bigger.
It was in fact 1.5hrs later as the tide was starting to push back in that we saw the first head and over head high two wave set come through. At that point in time it was a scramble for our gear and get down into position and get out there. There was already 1 other surfers in the water and the same things were probably going through his head as well. Then within the 3hrs we were on the scene a total of 7 other surfers showed up. It was so good to get back in the water and get a some waves after the last 2 days of the doldrums. That puts my surf day count at 6/9 so far for April, stoked to be almost injury free again.
Weather wise it was mostly overcast over on the East coast this morning. At around 1.45pm this afternoon we even had some more rain and now at 3.45pm it’s back to light overcast with some patches of blue mixed through the sky. Temperature wise it’s currently 29C with the humidity at 84%. Wind direction is out of the West at 23km/h.
The next tide today in Bali will in fact be a 0.06mtr Low at 6.39pm
Tomorrow’s Surf Forecast is calling for wave height to hold over night and into tomorrowand we can expect the wind to (fingers crossed) to be light and variable before dedicating to the West around mid morning.
Alright then that’s about me for today as I want to get down the beach and check in with my crew and get an eyeball on wave height as the sun sets. Hopefully with a glass of Bintang in my hand. You all know how good it tastes after a surf hey. See you over here in Bali ASAP and drop me a line if we can help make your next visit a little bit easier.
If anyone of our regulars has an old GoPro at home they would like to donate to us at baliwaves we would be forever grateful. I did have a GoPro 7 but last year the rubber seal covering the on/off button perished and is now not water tight. Please drop us a line
