Ok ok so I’m slowly starting to catch up on our photo back log over load, slowly but surely right. Today’s photo gallery features a handful of images from our road trip up to the picturesque location of Balian. The bulk of the images were shot down at scenic Balangan beach on the southern end of the island yesterday.
Today the 10th and we were on location at Uluwatu this morning waiting for the sun ride and to see what the morning was going to deliver. From what we could make out at pre dawn it was looking positive for some perfect Racetrack runners. As it was wave height was in the 3-4ft class with a few mor bigger set waves hitting the Main Peak when the tide started to fill in around mid morning. The Racetrack was the best bet early and there was only around a dozen surfers on it at the optimum tidal range.
As the tide poured in so did the learners and drop ins start going down. At one stage we all saw one guy get dropped in by a learner without any idea and colliding with the experienced surfer. The end result was an early end to his surf session with a deep long gash down the forearm. Lot’s of blood and a long paddle to the shore before trying to find medical help. A lot of people take it for granted just how dangerous surfing canm be. For example if your a few hundred mtrs off shore surfing a reef and an accident happens it could be a life or death situation, getting into the shore and then trying to get to a Dr or hospital. Please be careful and considerate as “accidents do happen”.
I’ll get onto today’s photos tomorrow, I haven’t even downloaded them yet but I am super keen to check out the tube rides that went down this morning at Uluwatu.
Weather wise it was overcast and raining most of the morning but the sun did bust out around late morning and p[retty much stayed clear. Right now at 5.00pm the temp is on 29C with the humidity at 74%. Wind direction is out of the ESE-SE at 12kms/h.
Tomorrow’s Surf Forecast has the wave models showing just a slight drop in wave height on a slightly lower period of 14 second. Wind is predicted to be out of the East early before swinging more ESE-SE around midday.
Ok crew thanks again for tuning in to get the latest news and best views from here on the best value for hard earned tropical surfing holiday dollar destination of Bali.
