Yesterday the 17th and my late afternoon surf check on the Outer Reefs was only showing wave height in the 1-3ft range between Kuta reef and Airport left. With reports of solid waves hitting the East coast it obviously not getting into the West side yet. Although surfing conditions were looking petty clean and tidy out there on the Outer Reefs.
This morning the 18th and again my early morning check on the Outer reefs was still only showing wave height up a little at 3-5ft with the wind a straight Northerly. So I had Ketut take a run over to the East coast, knowing there was going to be plenty of swell and perfect waves with clean off shore wind. As it shows in our latest photo gallery it was absolutely pumping over at Keramas this morning. Wave height as pushing the 6-8ft mark or 3+times over head.
No shortage of surfers either as to be expected with the optimum conditions and possibly the best waves on the island this morning. It was also great to see so many good surfers in the line up. Not too mention the return of Indonesian’s one and only ever surfer to qualify for the World tour Mr Rio Wiada. We also shot some more sick 4K video and I have loaded a single 1 wave clip of Rio on our baliwaves FaceBook page if you wanna take a look.
Weather wise today it’s been perfect Bali beach weather. Right now at 4.00pm the temp is still a warm29C, humidity is at 74%. Wind direction has come right around to the SSE at 10km/h.
The tide has just passed through the bottom of a 0.33mtr Low and now running back in.
Tomorrow’s Surf Forecast is calling for wave height to be slowly backing off through the day. Wave period will drop from today’s 16 seconds down to 13 seconds. More light and variable wind early before the E-SE Tradewind kicks in around mid morning.
