Today’s photo gallery thanks to our Team Member Mr Ketut was shot yesterday the 31st up on the black sanded beach of Pererenan. We had a nice little bump in wave height that we saw coming yesterday, resulting in some solid sandy barrels at the Gu.
Today the 1st of June and we were torn between two options this morning but the strong ESE wind kinda dictated where we had to go. Our first stop was for an over view of Balangan. I reckon it might have been ok but in the 5 mins we spent checking it we only say a couple of head high waves come through. Not many surfers in the water at 6.20am which won my vote. But I think with the tide still running in it might have been a lost cause.
So we jumped back into the van and bee lined further down the line to the last stop, Uluwatu. Uluwatu was showing much better size with 4 footers (well over head) set waves hitting the Main Peak and Temple sections. The tide by this stage (2.2mtrs) was too fat for the Racetrack section. No shortage of early starters down at Ulu this morning with maybe 80 surfers spread through Temples all the way back to the top of the Track. I threw off paddling out and settled for some of the best espresso coffee in town at Warung Jeffry. I also smashed 2 slices of avocado / poached eggs on toast for a total of AU$7.00 (Espresso and breakfast). After smashing that it was well worth the drive, I thought anyway. It just gets a little to dangerous with a full house of learner surfers for me.
Weather wise it’s been a super nice day. There was some big dark clouds down south early but they nicked off leaving a clear blue sky by 8.00am. Right now at 1.50pm the temp is on 30C, humidity at 75%. Wind direction is out of the SE at 19km/h.
The next tide today will be a 0.45mtr low around 3.15pm
Tomorrows Surf Forecast is saying we might get a slight bump in size, however very slight that may be. The wave period remains the same as today at 13 seconds. Wind will be fresh ESE all day.
Ok friends thanks for dropping into the baliwaves and stay tuned as we will be back out there looking for waves again tomorrow morning.
