Hello all you Bali surfers, yesterday the 28th we didn’t get out for a shoot or a surf for that matter as I had to house sit why my other half visited a Hindu Temple. So at least I got plenty of stuff done here at home. I did make it down for an afternoon surf check on the Outer reefs just down the road from here though. The tide was running in at the time I was down there and the wind gusty out of the SE. Wave height between Kuta Reef and Airport Left was still do able in the chest to well over head high class. No shortage of surfers with the drop in size. I also had word that there were some half decent waves over on the other side of the island through until mid morning.
This morning the 29th with FA wind happening we opted to head over to Keramas and catch the tide and glassy conditions. It was drearily overcast over on the East side this morning and it reflects into the first half of our current photo gallery. But as the clouds slowly parted we did get a few half decent frames. Wave height this morning was a nice 3-4ft+ but not quite double head high. We arrived just before 8am and there was already 20 surfers in the water. There was also a big ladies Yoga class happening over in front of the resort.
The crowd held at 20 all morning while we were on the scene and the wind slowly turned onshore around 9.30am. It was refreshing to be at a location where no one was being pushed in for a change.
Weather wise as I mentioned our day started off overcast but now at 1.30pm it’s turned around for a nice sunny arvo here on the West side. Currently the mercury is on 28C and the humidity at 70%. Wind direction is ESE at 24km/h
The next tide today in Bali (Benoa Hr) 0.65mtr Low at 2.10pm
Tomorrow’s Surf Forecast is swaying towards a slight drop in wave height with more fresh to gusty SE-ESE wind.
Tomorrow also has the not to be mossed RipCurl Padang Padang Cup’s opening ceremony commencing at 3.00pm at Padang Padang Beach. Like I said, it’s not to be missed !
Long Range Surf Forecast has a new swell hitting Bali on the 1st of August and flowing into the 2nd and then a solid “red alert” swell rolling in on the back around the 4th – 5th. The second swell looks like it will be lighting up Sumatra as well.
