Hello awesome people and thanks for checking into the original Bali surf report website and in fact the first surfing website 2nd website on line in all of Indonesia. Just for the record.
Sorry for going MIA the last few days but luckily we never really missed out on much with small waves from Uluwatu all the way up to Balian. In fact reports in from Balian was of only 3 footers hitting the Peak and that tells you just how small it has been at most locations. But yesterday morning the 15th and we were already seeing the start of a new swell that was predicted.
As it shows in some of these photos that were shot down at Uluwatu yesterday morning there were some solid waves hitting the Main Peak in the triple head high plus range. It was a little smaller down on the Temple section but still some clean tubes to be had. While Ketut was down on the cliff at Ulu I was out with a couple of friends in the boat going over some solid swells chasing some fresh fish. Not the most ideal fishing conditions but we did end up having a good day.
We punched through the reef near Airport left where wave height was an easy 2-3ft with around 25 surfers in the water. It looked consistent enough and a couple went through un ridden as we pushed on. Pushing South in close past Balangan there some nice looking 3-4 footers with a small crew in the line up. Cruising past Bingin and Impossibles we didn’t get that close but I could see a sprinkle of heads dotting the line ups.
This morning the 16th and our 6.45am surf check on the Outer reefs of South Kuta was still showing similar size as yesterday. 2-4 footers between Kuta reef and Airport left. The tide was running in at the time and the wind was already fresh out of the ESE. Ketut has taken a run down to the bukit to see what’s happening at Balangan and has phoned in calling wave height hitting the point at 4ft. Our man was calling a 9.00am crowd of around 50 surfers spread from the point down to the end section.
Weather wise this morning it looking pretty good but now at 11.00am there is a lot more cloud moving through. The mercury is at 27C and the humidity is at 79%. Wind direction is ESE at 21km/h.
The next tide today in Bali (Benoa) will be a reef exposing 0.15 at 4.52pm
Tomorrow’s Surf Forecast has the wave models calling in a solid boost in wave height. The wave period reflects a good increase going from14 seconds this morning up to 17 seconds tomorrow. Wind wise we might see a lighter variable breeze early before dedicating to the SE by mid morning.
