Yesterday as I mentioned there were some really fun little waves up at the Gu. When I say Canggu I mean the main breaks of Canggu and not the Batu Bolong or Berawa area. Just looking that way (to the East) it looks like a learner night mare of hundreds of learners packed into a couple of breaks. I’m taking Echo Beach left hand reef / rock break, the left on Sandbar Pererenan and the Rivermouth right hander. So here is a bunch of photos we shot there yesterday.
Today the 28th and with wave height dropping away we took a run down to Uluwatu to see if we could get wet. Arriving at 6.30am to find wave height in the 1-3ft class on the Main Peak and Temple sections. There was already 25 surfers spread through the line up and the wind was clean off shore on a rising tide. Not pumping Ulu by any means but it’s always good to be in the water at Uluwatu. As the tide and morning filled in so did the amount of learners in the water. It was great conditions for learners today with high tide and small waves, couldn’t blame them for wanting to surf Uluwatu today.
Weather wise it’s been nothing but blue sky and right now at 2.55pm the temp is still a warm 28Cthe humidity is ay 72%. Wind direction is coming out of the ESE at a gusty 30km/h.
The next tide today in Bali will be a 0.56mtr Low at 3.06pm
On the 31st of this month we will have our second Full Moon of the month commonly referred to as a “blue moon” They only happen ever 2.5yrs, hence the saying “once in a blue moon”
Tomorrow’s Surf Forecast is calling for wave height to just bump a smidgen and maybe even some light and variable wind to start the day before the Tradey kicks in.
Here is some news I have been meaning to post for the last couple of weeks. I have been contacted twice this month from people telling me that they were ripped off. Nothing new right, but this latest scam in Bali is of people booking airb&b villa’s on line only to turn up to an address / villa that does not exist. So if you are hunting on line take extreme care when paying up front.
Ok gotta run crew (sushi night) but we have a plan for tomorrow and we will be surfing, stay tuned (baliwaves face book) to see where we end up
Also if you are coming to Bali from the south hemisphere winter please try not to bring the colds and flu’s with you. Make sure you get to the Dr and get it sorted out. That way you will enjoy your time more and won’t pass it on to the locals.
