Yesterday the 16th and wave height was still holding solid pretty well much right across Bali at all the major locations. Even some of the hard to access locations were lit up yesterday on both sides of the island. Our latest photo drop was shot down at Balangan mostly through the lower end of the morning tide. When Balangan gets to this size the lower end of the tide produces the best shaped waves and some long and open walls to play on. Getting out into the line up is also a bit easier as when the tide fills in you have to be very patient and a much harder paddle out.
Balangan is in my opinion the last frontier on the South end of Bali. I mean it’s still natural enough to give visitors a taste of how natural Bali was, compared to the Mediterranean style that has taken over other area’s from Seminyak, Canggu and now moving into Bingin, Impossible’s, Padang Padang and Uluwatu. Still boasting small family owned and run warungs that serve surfer style food and drinks without all the “these days” fancy bullshit and pricing. But for how much longer, who knows. Enjoy it while it lasts.
This morning the 17th and wave height has settled down quite a bit here on the West Coast. Our morning surf check on the Outer reefs was showing wave height a much better suited 4-6ft between Kuta Reef and Airport left. Yesterday Kuta Reef was maxed out and not wrapping around the reef while today it is. Still some solid sets hitting Middle Reef on the lower end of the morning tide. I’m going to try and get down the beach later this afternoon for a surf check and face book video report so keep an eye out for that.
Weather wise today we have been enjoying a classic sun filled Sunday here on first choice holiday island of Bali. Right now at 11.00am the temp is a warm 28C with the humidity at 80%. Wind direction is coming out of the ESE at 24km/h and starting to gain more momentum.
The next tide today in Bali is going to be a 2.33mtrHigh at 11.41am followed by a very dry 0.01mtr Low at 5.46pm.
Tomorrow’s Surf Forecast is calling for wave height to continue tapering off into tomorrow but still holding a 14 second period and SW direction. Wind wise the ESE-SE Trade wind is continuing to provide the off shore wind along our West Coast with gusts of up to 20-26km/h

Wow Slim,
I don’t think I have seen Balangan as big as that.
Some epic photos.

Yes Doc is does hold it pretty big out there and it is usually peeling off. Low tide is pretty much the only way to get out and you must be very patient timing the sets.
