Hello Bali people and welcome to the weekend here on your baliwaves. Yesterday the 27th and wave height was still pretty small so we virtually had no other option than to return to Balian for another session, twist my arm hehe. So after a little bit of a nervous drive we made it safely into Dekis Warung around 6.30am. I do mean nervous drive as we had to move off the road a couple of times to avoid head on collisions with trucks and busses that seem to have no regards towards any other motorists. Driving home it was hard to believe just how many trucks were on the road heading towards Denpasar and 80% of them driving like maniacs.
But a quick glimpse of the waves and low numbers in the water (plus some coffee) and we were good to get out there. As it shows in our latest photo gallery wave height was a fun sized head to well over head high with a light off shore wind that glassed off. It wasn’t until around 9.30am that the wind started to tend more to the WSW. I just took a look at the Balian WEBCAM on the Worlds biggest surfing website and there looks to be more good looking fun little waves again today.
Weather wise yesterday it was a bit overcast early before the sun won out and we ended up with another hot and sunny Friday afternoon.
Today the 28th and our man Ketut took a run up to Canggu this morning to see if he could find some surfers tearing it up on the Sandbar. I’ve checked out the photos, wave height was only in the 2-2ft+ class but with good shape and a top day for the local grommets to get out there and brush up their moves. The wind was light out of the West but it was still clean and glassy. I’ll throw a few photos up for you later this afternoon or first thing in the morning.
Weather wise today it’s brutally hot outside right now at 12.10pm with the temp on 32C and humidity at a dry 62%. The wind is now moving out of the Southern quadrant at 11-14km/h.
Tomorrow’s Surf Forecast is showing a positive little bump in wave height with the wave period reflecting it moving from today’s 9 seconds to 12-16 seconds tomorrow. Expect more light and variable wind before it settles towards the Southern quadrant, it’s that time of the year.
