Hello everyone and it’s good to be back on deck again today. Yesterday the 17th I spent most of the day back at RS Sanglah (Bali’s biggest hospital) trying to get myself back functioning normal. Hopefully this time we will make some more progress. It’s been a rough month watching everyone else getting sick waves. But thems the breaks and we have to do what we have to do.
Today the 18th and we took a run down the coast early this morning hoping to still see some swell lighting up Bali. We were a bit late by the time we arrived, but were still pretty happy to see as it shows 3-4ft waves peeling off with a light off shore wind. We were a bit late as there were already 10 surfers in the water but it was a super friendly bunch of blokes so no drama’s, no girls in the water today was noticeable.
The tide was way out this morning which was on our side and surfing conditions were pretty good right through until around 9.00am when the wind started to swing more to the South. By that time it looked like wave height was also fading out as predicted.
A good thing this morning there was no smell of rotting burning rubbish coming from the Serangan rubbish disposal area that has been burning / smoldering for the last 3-4 days. Well not where we were anyway but I’m sure somewhere was hurting from it.
Weather wise today another hot and sunny summer day here on the holiday island. Right now at 1.35pm it’s still a hot 31C and nothing but blue sky as far as I can see. The humidity level is at 66% and the wind is now ESE at 24km/h.
The next tide today will be a 0.38low tide at 6.03pm
Tomorrow’s Surf Forecast is looking like it’s going to be tough to find an uncrowded wave with wave height all but gone. Probably best chance would be somewhere along the beach breaks of Kuta and Legian, Uluwatu or Nusa Dua early.

Is that guy in the blue on a Firewire Greedy Beaver? (their name for the board, not mine man lol).
Impressed the way he surfs such a wide shape in larger swell.
Hope you’re healing up Slim!!
Hey Tom,
Yeah that guy is “MIke” I think he is the Aussie veteran long board champion he is aged 70 or there about and rips it apart. He is also a big fan of the baliwaves.com 🙂
Thanks Tom much appreciated mate
