G’day surfers and thanks for stopping by the baliwaves, and the start of another surfing week. Right here on the best value for tropical surfing holiday dollar of Bali. Well curiosity and the need to be at th beach hit me this morning so I tagged along with Ketut this morning. Our Primary location was actually looking very tasty on the bottom of the Low tide. At one stage while we were watching it there was a 10 wave set between 4-6ft. The only problem from Ketut’s point of view as a photographer was that there were only some surf school of learners out there getting cleaned up.
No wuckers so we just took our time and moseyed back up the road a bit to our never fail Secondary location. The tide was still a bit low (0.79mtrs at 8.41am) and you could see that the inside section was no go, too shallow. It wasn’t long once the tide turned and wave height bumped up into the double head high on the bigger set waves. Only 4 surfers when we pulled up but around an hour later it was a gromfest of Kuta-Legian grommets taking over and taking no prisoners (as grommets don’t hehe).
Weather wise our day got off to a nice start with no rain clouds and a super light and variable breeze. By 11.00am I was brutally hot. Right now at 4.39pm it’s still 31C, humidity level is at 73%. Wind direction.. well atm there is hardly a puff and I just watched (out my window) some nasty clouds blow over us coming out of the SE.
Tomorrow’ Surf Forecast has the wave models calling it dropping off quite a bit overnight and then continuing to taper off through out the day. Early morning N-NW wind before dedicating to the WSW-SW then wait for it… predicted to turn SSE-E late afternoon.
I think that’s about me for today It’s been a big day compared to what I’ve been used to lately, and……. loving it. Thanks Everyone !
