Sorry we’ve been a bit quiet with the reports – Ketut has been up in the village with preparations happening for the Galungan ceremony. Galungan is a major Balinese Hindu festival celebrating the victory of good over evil. It honours ancestral spirits, who are believed to visit during the ten-day period, symbolized by decorated bamboo poles called “penjor.” The festival includes offerings, rituals, and temple visits, ending with Kuningan, when the spirits return to the heavens. Ketut sent through this gallery of images of prepration work.
Now at 8:00pm it is 27 degrees with some scattered clouds, humidity at 74%, with the breeze at 7kph from the South West.
Tomorrows tides are a -0.1m low tide at 6:05 AM and a 1.8m high tide at 12:23 PM.
The surf forecast is the quiet. It’s been small conditions and will continue to be small before a new swell kicks in on Sunday and runs through to Tuesday. Not a big one, but something better than what we’re experiencing now… If you are heading over don’t forget to drop us a line about surf trips or accommodation! Ketut has been scooting a few guests around to the pick of the spots :)
Thanks again for all your continued support and messages, it’s great to see some donations continuing to come through. You can continue to support Slims family via the Gofundme page.
