Keramas delivered the goods this morning with solid 4 foot sets rolling in on the mid tide. Winds were clean offshore from the get-go, holding the lines steady from sunrise through mid-morning. The tide was filling in and the waves were working nicely with long walls, clean take-offs and solid barrels.
Ketut was on the beach from 7AM till 11AM and counted 20 surfers in the water around 8. Among them was Bali’s own Darma Putra, who was out there doing what he does best, joined by a couple other local chargers. Skies were slightly cloudy during the morning hours but no sign of rain and the air stayed warm. As for the highlight, Ketut reckons it was the post-surf motorbike ride home, classic Bali.
As of early arvo, Denpasar is sitting on 31°C, feeling like 38°C, with scattered clouds and 15 km/h easterlies keeping things steamy but breezy. There’s one more low tide this evening at 6:35PM, dropping to 0.1 metres. Tomorrow starts with a low tide at 6:02AM of 0.7 metres, followed by a high tide at 12:30PM at 2.6 metres
The surf forecast is looking good through the weekend. Saturday is holding a healthy 1.5 to 1.7 metre swell, easing slightly Sunday but staying in the head-high to overhead zone. Winds are forecast to be offshore or lightly cross-off through the mornings. Plenty of energy in the water and clean early windows right through to mid next week. Next week, things step up a notch with 2 metre+ swell, steady wind and good conditions, could be a good run for dawn patrol missions.
