Keramas Surf Report – Thursday 22nd January 2026
Yesterday, Ketut made his way over to Keramas, getting to know the scene nice and early. Wave height was in the solid 5-foot range, and the offshore winds were doing their job to keep things clean. The tide was pushing higher, and despite the rain trying to show up, the waves were still delivering those fast, punchy rides that Keramas is known for. With 25 keen surfers in the water, including a couple of pro riders, it was a lively session with everyone eager to snag their share of the action.
Crowd wise, the lineup was a mix of locals and more experienced surfers, all taking advantage of the conditions. The breeze kept the faces smooth, which provided a decent window before the weather started packing in a bit. The rain seemed inevitable, but for the early birds, the rewards outweighed the wet. As always, the incoming tide helped to extend that magic early hour, proving once again that timing and a bit of grit are key to enjoying what’s on offer at Keramas.
Weather & Tides
Outside right now it’s a bit grey and overcast here in Bali with the temperature sitting on 26 degrees Celsius, feeling like 27. Humidity is quite high at 87%, and there’s a strong wind kicking up around the beaches, making it feel a bit rough and rugged. There’s some rain around and the conditions are turning towards high tide, so keep that in mind if you’re heading out. The water’s sitting at 29 degrees Celsius, so still nice and warm if you’re into a dip despite the clouds.
Tide wise today, the tide looks to be running in, and it’s working its way to a solid high. That should keep the waves lined up nicely and make Keramas a bit more forgiving. As long as there’s enough water on the reef, you’ll have some decent shape to work with, but remember it can get competitive out there. Keep an eye on the currents and stragglers getting caught on the inside with that stronger push.
Surf Forecast
Looking ahead, the surf is set to remain active over the coming days. The current swell energy holds through the short term, with plenty of size around, but conditions will be heavily influenced by wind and weather. There’s a brief window where winds ease slightly, which could offer cleaner conditions at exposed east coast reefs like Keramas. After that, another pulse of swell is expected to build, bringing more size and power, though strong winds may again be a factor. Best results will come from timing the tides and keeping an eye on early morning windows before winds strengthen.
