Bali Surf Report – September 20 2007

MORNING SURF UP-DATE **** Hello again and yes sir it’s time for another take on todays surfing and weather conditions here on the happy little surfing paradise island of Bali . I went down for the surf check of the Outer Reefs at 6.00am . Because according to the swell prediction websites wave height was supposed to be kicking a couple of extra feet in size, well it hasn’t yet. If it had, I’d already be on my way down to Padang Padang with the XL2 video cam. But never the less there is still plenty of waves breaking in the 3-5ft+ range between Kuta Reef and Airport Left. The tide is still running out at the moment, heading for a 0.7mtr Low at 10.00am. And seeing as though we are right in the middle of the moon phase (New / Full) it’s only gunna be running back in for a 1.4mtr High around 3.30pm. The wind was still only light at first light but the Tradewind should be kicking in any time from here on in, coming outta the ESE-SSE. Kuta Reef was looking like it’s gunna be peeling off 3-4 footers when the tide starts to turn. That’s where you’ll be able to find me I’m thinking. Middle Reef was still pumping through at 4-5ft+ (double head high plus), while Airport Left was around the 2-4ft class . I’d say Padang Padang would be breaking this morning but maybe only in the 3-4ft+ range. Impossible’s would also be a good bet to track down some long walled waves while the tide is still floating around the bottom. Weather wise today we do have some cloud hovering about but it’s up pretty high and looking harmless. Temperature wise the mercury should be up around the 32 degree Celsius mark while the water temp is sitting pretty at 23 degree’s Celsius. On the dollar changing scene , dollars to Rupiah: — 1AUD=Rp7,775 – 1US$=Rp9,285. Ok then I’m gunna try and answer a few emails before I hit Kuta Reef , so hang in there if you are waiting for a reply.
