MIDDAY SURF UP-DATE **** G’day surfers thanks for dropping in for a look at whats happening surf and wetha wise around Bali today. I made my first surf check of the Outer Reefs here in Tuban at 6.45am and everything was still looking good with 3-4ft+ waves breaking between Kuta Reef and Airports . The tide was running in for a 2.2mtr High set for 10.00am and the wind was only light outta the NNE at 1-2knot . Kuta Reef was peeling off nicely for 60-80yrds in the shoulder to head high plus range. Middle Reef was attracting a more solid 3-4ft+ with the odd double head high set wave. Airport Left was probably looking the most consistent outta the big 3, also in that shoulder to head high plus class. There were surfers out on all sections of the Outers with Kuta Reef drawing the biggest crowd as the morning progressed and the tide crept up. I also talked to a couple of Ex-Pats who made the boat ride around to Airport Right but didn’t jump off because it was only breaking at shoulder to head high with a long wait between sets. Our man Scott Thompson rode his rental up to Canggu and reckoned it was smoking at 3-4ft and super clean before the ESE Tradewind kicked in at 10-14knot around 10.00am . That’s where these current photos we have on display were taken. Scott also mentioned that there was a 5 star turn out of pro and ex-pro surfers. Dewa Made headed South to Uluwatu with the video equipment but reckoned there was only 1 surfer in the water at Uluwatu and not worth setting up for. On the way back to Home Base I also bumped into a local friend of mine Devis Ratif , Devis said he got his wave fix up along the beach breaks of Half Way . Weather wise around this part of the island (Tuban) it’s really warming up down along the beach and now at midday the temperature would have to be around 33-34 degree’s Celsius . The water temp was noticibly cooler when I was in, probably somewhere around the 20-21 degree Celsius mark. Ok then that’s us, plenty of waves going down all over the island. We can also expect a much bigger swell to start smacking the reef breaks anytime in the next 24-48 hours. Yesterday I dropped another 40 photos into the September Surfing Gallery for ya’s and I’ve still got another 100 or so to load. Have a good one out there and what ever ya do make sure ya stay tuned to the Original Bali Surf and Weather Website . Hey and do us a favor and buy a baliwaves.com T-SHIRT and help us to keep running this stuff, I don’t think many of you really know how much time, effort and money we put into the running of baliwaves.com . Before I go I gotta say a big Hello to all the surfers that have been calling into the Dewi Sri Live Seafood Restaurant here in Tuban over the last couple of weeks.
