**** MORNING SURF UP-DATE **** Hello friends of Bali, thanks for cruising through for the run down on surf and weather conditions here in Bali . These current photos were taken over on the East Coast of Bali at Keramas yesterday (thanks Scott). Apparantly the early morning conditions were pristine but alas the tide was too low for it and when the tide did start to roll in the wind swung around the the South and on-shore everywhere in Bali . But Scotty still managed to bring home the bacon thanks to quality of surfing that was going down.
This morning’s 6.45am surf check of the Outer Reefs wasn’t looking too good at all. Even though there was still 2-3ft of swell breaking between Kuta Reef and Airport Left the wind was already strong, coming outta the SSW @ 4-8knot and on-shore at virtually every location. Just for the record the tide was still dropping for a 0.5mtr Low @ 9.00am and is then gunna be filling back in for 1.5mtr High around 3.00pm this afternoon. But if you were used to surfing on-shore waves you’d be able to find plenty to choose from.
Weather wise apart from the fresh on/cross-shore wind everything else is perfectly in place for a fine day at the beach or poolside. Stacks of blue sky and more hot and humid conditions for the lucky buggers here on holiday.
Ok our first objective of aquiring the funds to hook up electricity to the school is done . So a huge pat on the back to all of you that have already contributed or in the process of !!! But there’s still a bit more we can do for the school so if you are interested take a look at the Info page on the school project over on the menue bar.
I’m stoked that our Scholarship Program for underprivileged Balinese kids has done so well, THANKS BIG TIME to all the big hearted people who have got behind us and helped out. Now I’ve got a new program that I’d like to kick off. One that we can control and keep constant progress up-dates on. I’m talking about kinda adopting a school up in one of the area’s of Bali where there’s no cash flow from tourism and hardly any from anything else for that matter. The kids don’t have to pay school fees, because their Mum and Dad’s don’t have any money to pay. Half, or more of the kids that attend don’t even have shoes to wear to school and walk up to 4km’s bare footed or in rubber thongs just to be there. Now in my opinion this is a worthy project for us to think about. What I’d like to start off with is trying to raise enough cash to get electricity hooked up to the school, with electricity we can then look at a lot of other basic stuff, like a water pump etc etc etc.
Have a good one what ever you’ve got happening out there and stay tuned to the one and only Original Bali Surf and Weather website .
