**** MORNING SURF UP-DATE **** Hello surfers and welcome back for another week of baliwaves . This morning I got up reasonably early at 5.45am and headed straight down to check surfing conditions on the Outer Reefs . Just on the off chance of a calm wind. Nope, even on sun up the wind was already fresh coming outta the WNW @ 4-7knot and on-shore right along Bali ’s West coast . Wave height between Kuta Reef and Airports has also dropped off and now only breaking in the 1-2ft range. The High tide peaked already peaked around 5.00am and is now on the run out for 0 .7mtr Low @ 10.30am . If I was loking for a wave this morning I’d probably be making tracks down to the South Eastern end of the island to Green Balls or Nusa Dua , maybe even Nyang Nyangs to find the best of what would be on offer. There would still have to be some head high waves breaking down there and the wind would be clean off-shore. I think our next new swell is still a day oe two away, but it is in transit to us as I type. And just for something different we might take baliwaves off-shore for it, but ya’s will have to wait and see to where ok.
Weather wise this morning it’s a bit cooler outside with the fresh on-shore wind combined with some cloud cover moving across with it. But there’s still plenty of blue sky and come midday the temperature will be up there in the 30’s on the Celsius scale. While the water temp was warm enough yesterday when I went in for a cool off, around 24-25 degree’s Celsius.
Ok our first objective of aquiring the funds to hook up electricity to the school is done . So a huge pat on the back to all of you that have already contributed or in the process of !!! But there’s still a bit more we can do for the school so if you are interested take a look at the Info page on the school project over on the menue bar.
I’m stoked that our Scholarship Program for underprivileged Balinese kids has done so well, THANKS BIG TIME to all the big hearted people who have got behind us and helped out. Now I’ve got a new program that I’d like to kick off. One that we can control and keep constant progress up-dates on. I’m talking about kinda adopting a school up in one of the area’s of Bali where there’s no cash flow from tourism and hardly any from anything else for that matter. The kids don’t have to pay school fees, because their Mum and Dad’s don’t have any money to pay. Half, or more of the kids that attend don’t even have shoes to wear to school and walk up to 4km’s bare footed or in rubber thongs just to be there. Now in my opinion this is a worthy project for us to think about. What I’d like to start off with is trying to raise enough cash to get electricity hooked up to the school, with electricity we can then look at a lot of other basic stuff, like a water pump etc etc etc.
Have a good one what ever you’ve got happening out there and stay tuned to the one and only Original Bali Surf and Weather website .
