****AFTERNOON SURF UP-DATE**** Howdy folks and thanks for dropping in for the run down on how it’s been surf and weather wise on your favourite holiday island today . So I I took my first surf check of the Outer Reefs here in Tuban at 6.00am and to me it appeared that wave height had improved in size ever so slightly. The tide was on the run in for a 1.7mtr High around 9.30am and the wind was coming lightly off-shore outta the East @ 1-3knot .
It was still a touch too small for Kuta Reef and Airport Left but Middle Reef did have a few shoulder to head high set waves coming through, no surfers in sight at that time of the morning. Anyway with the hope of a bit more swell around the rock I loaded the camera gear onto my old motor bike and hit the highway for Uluwatu . Arriving around 7.30am surfing conditions were ultra clean and wave height on the Main Peak ranging between 2-3ft+. Only 10 surfers riding The Peak and another lone surfer down on the Temple section. By the time I packed up at 11.00am the crowd woulda been peaking somewhere around 25. And I’d say as the tide drops out for the afternoon Low tide there might even be a few little tubes peeling down the Racetrack . All in not a bad day, and nice to see a return to that good old ESE off-shore wind.
Weather wise it’s been perfect for a holiday and I don’t think there woulda been anyone complaining about the blue sky and sunshine.
I’m stoked that our Scholarship Program for underprivileged Balinese kids has done so well, THANKS BIG TIME to all the big hearted people who have got behind us and helped out. Now I’ve got a new program that I’d like to kick off. One that we can control and keep constant progress up-dates on. I’m talking about kinda adopting a school up in one of the area’s of Bali where there’s no cash flow from tourism and hardly any from anything else for that matter. The kids don’t have to pay school fees, because their Mum and Dad’s don’t have any money to pay. Half, or more of the kids that attend don’t even have shoes to wear to school and walk up to 4km’s bare footed or in rubber thongs just to be there. Now in my opinion this is a worthy project for us to think about. What I’d like to start off with is trying to raise enough cash to get electricity hooked up to the school, with electricity we can then look at a lot of other basic stuff, like a water pump etc etc etc.
Well Thanks to all the kind hearted folks that have helped us improve the conditions up at the Datah Primary School ! We are making some real progress with the objectives we made so make sure you check out our progress at the school via the “SCHOOL PROJECT” page over on the menue bar .
Have a good one what ever you’ve got happening out there and stay tuned to the one and only Original Bali Surf and Weather website .
