**** MORNING SURF UP-DATE **** Hey crew welcome back to the baliwaves.com for the daily (7/7) run down on Bali’s surf and weather conditions . Yesterday God knows I tried to get these photos loaded up for ya’s but do ya think I could get my dial up connection, no sir. Anyway here they are thanks to Scotty Thompson who made the run down to Uluwatu for us. And right now he’s on his way to a different location to give ya’s a bit more variety. But you’ll have ta tune in later this arvo to see the goods.
And what we have in Bali this morning is another perfect start to the day for anyone that just happens to be here on holidays. My 6.00am surf recon of the Outer Reefs revealed a slight drop in wave height, with 2-3ft+ waves breaking between Kuta Reef and Airport Left . The tide was smack dead on the bottom of a 0.1mtr Low tide and there was a fair bit of exposed reef out there. Way too shallow for Kuta Reef or Airports but Middle Reef was happily peeling off un-ridden 2-3ft+ waves. This morning’s wind direction was coming straight off-shore outta the East @ 1knot so surfing conditions are very clean and tidy here along the West Coast . I’d have to imagine that Uluwatu’s low tide Racetrack section would be firing through some tubular waves through the low tide and if the wind stays good outta the Eastern quadrant the Main Peak should be picking up at least 4-4ft+ by mid morning. Ok crew that’s about me for now I’ve gotta get stuck into my last minute travel preparation mode . Don’t worry about not getting your baliwaves fix either cause like I said Scotty has volunteered to hold the baliwaves fort while I’m away. Anyway have a good one out there today and we’ll be back with more Bali surf action for ya’s later this afternoon. Oh yeah and I’ve also sent Troy another Progress Report from the Datah Primary School Project and he will get loaded into the SCHOOL PROJECT section for ya’s to check out.
I’m stoked that our Scholarship Program for underprivileged Balinese kids has done so well, THANKS BIG TIME to all the big hearted people who have got behind us and helped out. Now I’ve got a new program that I’d like to kick off. One that we can control and keep constant progress up-dates on. I’m talking about kinda adopting a school up in one of the area’s of Bali where there’s no cash flow from tourism and hardly any from anything else for that matter. The kids don’t have to pay school fees, because their Mum and Dad’s don’t have any money to pay. Half, or more of the kids that attend don’t even have shoes to wear to school and walk up to 4km’s bare footed or in rubber thongs just to be there. Now in my opinion this is a worthy project for us to think about. What I’d like to start off with is trying to raise enough cash to get electricity hooked up to the school, with electricity we can then look at a lot of other basic stuff, like a water pump etc etc etc.
Well Thanks to all the kind hearted folks that have helped us improve the conditions up at the Datah Primary School ! We are making some real progress with the objectives we made so make sure you check out our progress at the school via the “SCHOOL PROJECT” page over on the menue bar .
Have a good one what ever you’ve got happening out there and stay tuned to the one and only Original Bali Surf and Weather website .
